Chapter 19

Noah's p.o.v

A week later.

I've been tossing and turning for hours trying to go to sleep. Ever since Dani and I ended I haven't had the best luck in falling asleep and when I do I can't stay asleep for too long. I just moved into my new apartment a few days ago. It's small and affordable. It has a kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, the essentials basically. I knew I had to move as quick as possible. If I didn't I would've ended beating the shit out of Mason.

I haven't seen Dani in more than a week. The longest I've ever gone without seeing her. Desiree says that I'm torturing myself. Which I guess she's right, but I hate myself for hurting her and ruining what we had. I miss her so much! I just wanna hold her and kiss her. She's on my mind 24-7! I'm depressed because we're not together, and because I know she hates me. All of this shit is my fault.

I inhaled as I rolled over and reached for the nightstand. I picked up the phone and looked at the time. "2:47" I mumbled. Desiree's name began flickering across my phones screen, signaling that she's calling. I quickly picked up, worrying about why she's calling at 2 in the morning.

"Dez?" I spoke through the phone. My voice low and groggily from my slight tiredness. "Noah!" She sang through the phone. I quickly sat up and readjusted the phone. "Are you drunk?" I asked, now getting out of bed. "A bit" she laughed, her words slurred. "Desiree" I groaned, as I put my shoes on. "Where are you?" I questioned, as I heard loud music through the phone.

"Uhm" she pondered. I groaned, pulling my phone away to look up her location. Of course she's at a party. "I'll be there in a second. Don't move" I tell her. "Aiye aiye captain" she laughed. I quickly got my jacket and drove over to her location. I entered and immediately scanned the area. I spotted Luke so I walk over to see if he knows where Desiree is.

"Noah" Luke says, seeming surprised to see me. "Have you seen Desiree? She's somewhere around here drunk out of her mind" I state. "Nah, I didn't even know she was here" he replied. Which I was surprised by. If Desiree isn't with her boyfriend she's definitely with Luke, or usually. "So you're just here alone?" I questioned. "No" he answered.

I looked at him skeptically because he's hesitant about telling me who he's with. He sighed and hesitantly tilted his head. I looked in the direction he was gesturing to. It was Dani looking as beautiful as ever as she danced with a drink in her hand. She was wearing a black cropped top, some loose pants that clung to her hips, and some heels.

"You brought her here?" I asked, turning back to him. "Look, Noah. She's barely been out of my apartment in the last 2 weeks. She only ever leaves when she goes to her classes and she'll barely go to those. So when she said she felt like going to a party. I said yes, okay" he explained. I glanced back over to her and couldn't help but feel irritated by the guys floating around her, which I know I don't have the right to be. At least not anymore.

"Tsk. Yeah, okay" I mumbled. I then walked away from him and looked for Desiree. I trailed every inch of the place until I found her in the bathroom emptying her stomach out. Zoe holding her hair as she did. "How much did she drink?" I questioned, concerned. Zoe shrugged in response as she laughed a bit. Oh gosh! She's drunk too.

"Great" I mumbled. After Desiree was done she just leaned onto the wall, a bit disoriented. "I'm taking you guys home" I announced, trying to get Desiree up but she pulled away from me. "Dez" I said, unamused. "I wanna stay here. I'm having fun" she laughed, I rolled my eyes at her. Zoe then suddenly popped up and wrapped her arms around my neck. "When are you gonna take me to bed again?" She asks, seduction wrapped around her voice. "Zoe-" I began.

"Sorry to interrupt" Dani spoke, hurt wrapped around her light voice as she stood in the doorway. "Dani" I said, quickly pulling Zoe away from me. Dani rolled her eyes and walked into a different bathroom. I groaned. I eventually got the girls to my car. Making sure to sit them both upright. "Wait, wait, wait" Desiree voiced as I buckled her in. "What?" I asked.

"I left my purse. I think..... it's over by the drinks" she tells me, slurring her words as she did. I sighed, shutting the door and going back inside. I walked over to
The drinks but got distracted by a sight that was irritating the shit out of me. Dani dancing with some guy. I tried to resist walking over there and pulling her away but that's exactly what I did. I quickly walked over there and grabbed her hand, pulling her outside.

"Noah?" She groaned, as I released her hand. "What are you doing?" I questioned, trying to hide the ping of jealousy in my voice. "Nothing that concerns you" she sniped. I knew she was right. I don't have the right to be angry or jealous. But fuck, the thought of some other guy touching her it- ugh! "Gosh Dani, I- why were you- why were you dancing with that guy?" I groaned. She pffted in disbelief at me. "You're un fucking believable" she scoffed. "You don't get to do that. You don't get to be jealous when you're doing what ever the hell it is you're doing with Zoe!" she hissed. "I'm not doing anything with Zoe. Dani, I don't want her, I want you" I sincerely stated, she redirected her gaze and shifted her weight.

"I want you! I've wanted nothing but you" I tell her, seriously. "How do you want me when you did what you did?!" She questioned, her voice strained, her eyes beginning to water. "I was hurt and wasn't thinking. I had seen you kissing mason and I- I got blinded by my emotions and did something that I immensely regret" I tell her. "Well I guess we're even then huh" she scoffed, her eyes watery. "We've both hurt each other" she stated.

"Dani I don't wanna be even, I wanna be with you" I truthfully said. "I'm sorry. I hate that I'm the reason for tears. That I'm the cause of your pain. I hate to see you hurt and I promise I will never hurt you again" I tell her, my voice faltering. She tilted her head a bit trying to hold in tears "Despite the immense pain I feel. Despite how you hurt me worse than anyone possibly could've just because it was you" she spoke, her eyes sparkling with tears that began filling them.

"I'm still in love with you! No matter if I want to be or not. I still love you" she stated, tears falling from her eyes. "Dani" I softly spoke, wrapping my arms around her, pulling her into an embrace. Her arms around my neck. "Dani, I'm still in love with you too" I genuinely tell her. "I can't stand the thought of you hating me" I mumbled against her neck.

"I don't hate you. Even if I wanted too. I can't hate you" Her voice low as she spoke. A wave of relief washed over me knowing that she doesn't hate me. "I'll give you all the time you need to forgive me" I tell her, pulling back a bit. Her chartreuse eyes that are sparkling with tears, deeply scanning mine. She placed both her hands on my cheeks, stroking her thumb across my cheek. I deeply inhaled, savoring the feel of her gentle touch. I put my hand over hers and lightly kissed her palm. She softly smiled as I did so. I missed her smile.
