I brush away some imaginary dust from Sylus custom-made suit hanging on the rack. My eyes travel from his clothing to the mirror in his room, seeing me standing there in my outfit for the night, matching to his.

He got invited to a masquerade ball and as his partner, Sylus invited me to be his date. I couldn't help but feel a tingle of pride at how well we'd match, turning and spinning in the mirror feeling like royalty, who's ready for their coronation.

About half an hour prior, when I heard that it's a masquerade AND it's tropical-themed, I was sure I misheard him. I couldn't help but stare at Sylus in disbelief.

"Are you sure?" I asked, raising a brow. "You didn't read that wrong?"

He chuckled and pulled his shirt over his head, the pale skin of his muscular body radiating in the warm light of the room.

"Are you doubting my reading abilities, sweetie?"

I shrugged and raised my finger. "First of all, it's hard to imagine you going to a masquerade. Voluntarily, mind you."

He stripped off his pants, crossing his arms and looked expectantly grinning at me while he wore nothing but boxers.

I intentionally stare at his perfect body like a creep, trying to make him flustered, even if I knew that it won't do anything except raising his ego.

"And it's tropical themed, which makes your accept of the invitation even weirder."

He laughed, taking long, measured steps into my direction. "Well, it sounded fun to go there with someone like you."

He takes a last step and stood right in front of me, my eyes on the same level as his wide chest. It rose in the rhythm of his breath. I poked my finger into his skin, my nail leaving a light mark, looking up to watch his delighted face.

"Hush hush, now go shower! We need to go in a few and I haven't even put my makeup on."

"Won't you help me remove my clothing?" He asked mockingly and raised his arms, flexing his abs, the muscles contracting from bottom to top in a powerful wave.

I gave him a bored look in return.

"Come on, hot stuff, not now. If you behave I'll think about giving in tonight." I pat my hand flat on his chest and walk past him to the hanger to pick up my clothing he had tailored for me the day prior. I expected him to pull me back, but he actually made his way to the bathroom.

"You know me. I always get what I want." He looked over his shoulder, looked me into the eyes and winked with a crooked grin before entering and closing the glass door behind him. I laughed and rolled my eyes at his cute behaviour.

Now I was sitting here, at my brightly lit table he sat up for me in his bedroom, taking my time to do my skincare and makeup. I had put on a wide sheet over my body to hide my look for the night so I can surprise him with it later.

The rattling sound of the water falling onto the glass from the shower head quietly filled the room as I spread primer onto my face. I can't help but smile in excitement when thinking about us, dancing and spinning to the classical music in a majestic hall with a huge cystal chandelier...

I just pumped some foundation on my skin, when the shower turns off, the sound of running water replaced by a soft rustle of a towel.

I watch him stepping out of the bathroom, a white trail of steam following his silhouette. I watch his reflection in my mirror, staring at his damp hair, messed up in a way that made him look like a greek god, the white towel hanging low on his hips. I bite my lower lip.
