The sun peeked through the curtains, casting a warm glow on Abhira's face as she stirred awake the following day.

The sun filtered through the tall windows of the classroom as students shuffled in, a mix of seniors and juniors blending together in a symphony of chatter and laughter. Among the bustle, Armaan sat alone on the first bench, his usual seat of solitude.

As the door swung open, Abhira stepped in, her eyes scanning the room until they landed on Armaan. With a purposeful stride, she navigated through the sea of desks and plopped down beside him, a wide smile illuminating her face.

"Hey, Armaan!" she greeted cheerily, her voice a refreshing breeze amid the classroom's mundane atmosphere.

he didn't replied, glancing sideways at her. The warmth of her presence eased the tension he didn't know had accumulated.

Moments later, Mrs. Soni, made her way to the front of the class. She adjusted her glasses and prepared to take attendance.

"Alright, everyone! Let's hear about the progress on your projects!" she chimed, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

As each student took turns presenting their ideas-some with elaborate plans and others with a hint of hesitancy-Abhira felt her heart sink. It hit her like a sudden downpour: she hadn't even started working on her project. Panic mingled with embarrassment as she realized her name was soon to come up.

"Alright, and what about you, Abhira and Armaan?" Mrs. Soni asked, a quizzical look in her eyes.

Armaan stood up, clearing his throat, a hint of mischief playing at the corners of his mouth as he said, "Actually, Professor Soni, Abhira didn't want to work with me-"

Before he could finish, Abhira shot up, cutting him off. "No, wait! I will! I will do my project with him!" Her declaration came with determination.

The class went silent for a moment, everyone turning to look at them.

"Tomorrow we'll share our ideas with you!" she added, her voice now more confident.

Mrs. Soni nodded, her smile widening. "Great! I look forward to it."

As Mrs. Soni turned to the next student, Armaan leaned closer to Abhira, his expression a mix of surprise and amusement." Are you really doing the project with me?"

Abhira, feeling a rush of sudden courage, grinned back. "I don't have any problem. If you have an issue, go talk to Mrs. Soni!"

Armaan she called, I want to talk to you But he didn't respond and leave

She set off to find him, heart pounding with each step. Looking in every corner of the bustling campus, she finally spotted him in the corridor, engaged in conversation with some other students. "Armaan!" she called, determination swirling within her.

Armaan turned, a cold expression on his face. "I don't want to hear your nonsense," he retorted and began walking away.

"Armaan, please!" she pleaded, desperation creeping into her voice as she followed him. "I'm sorry! I know you didn't have anything to do with that prank."

He didn't turn back, stepping into the boys' washroom. Abhira, caught in the moment of frustration, followed him inside. Laughter erupted from a group of boys when they saw her-a girl in the boys' washroom.

One of them yelled, "Hey, did you want anything?" teasing her, and just then, Armaan turned.

"Are you crazy?" he exclaimed, stepping closer to her and pulling her into a storeroom, his demeanor changing from irritation to something else entirely. He leaned her back against the wall, searching her eyes. "What are you doing? Why would you follow me here?"

Abhira felt her pulse quicken, but she couldn't ignore the fire of her emotions. "I was looking for you! I wanted to apologize!" She pouted slightly, feeling flustered under his intense gaze. "But you wouldn't listen, and I didn't realize where I was going. I'm really sorry."

"For what? For slapping me?" His tone was mocking, but there was a softness behind it.

"No! I mean yes ,I'm sorry for misunderstanding everything about you and the professor. Tanvi told me that... that bastard molested one of our college students, and I realize now you were standing up for someone!"and "I'm sorry! I know you didn't have anything to do with that prank."She took a breath, trying to steady her heart. "And I'm sorry for barging into the boys' washroom. I truly didn't mean to."

Armaan studied her for a moment, his expression softening. He placed a finger over her lips, silencing her as he whispered, "Shhh... it's okay. Just take a deep breath. Relax."

In this close proximity, Abhira could feel the warmth radiating from him, his hand resting lightly on her waist while his other hand still covered her mouth. Time seemed to stretch as their eyes locked in an intense moment of understanding.

"Okay," she finally exhaled, stepping back slightly. "I'm sorry. I should go now..."

Yet, he didn't release her waist. A knot formed in her stomach-not entirely unpleasant but also unsettling. "Armaan, please let me go," she insisted.

With a reluctant sigh, he released her, allowing her to step back. Heart racing, she opened the door and stepped outside, where she was met with the curious gazes of onlookers. Whispers began, laughter punctuating the air as someone said, "that day Armaan steps into the girl's washroom for Abhira, and today she steps in for him!"

"Maybe they're a couple!" another jested, and a friend added, "Or perhaps they're sworn enemies!"

Abhira rolled her eyes, exasperated, and spotted Armaan beside her, the corners of his mouth twitching into a smile. They shared a moment of silence as the laughter rang in their ears.

"Come on," he said with an air of quiet confidence, gesturing for her to walk with him.

As they left the crowd behind, Abhira found her thoughts lingering on their unexpected moment in the storeroom, her mind spinning with questions about what it all meant. The rest of her evening was consumed by thoughts of Armaan, a mix of confusion and an undeniable pull that had ignited within her heart.
