The team—Adam, Bree, Chase, Leo, Mimi, Archie, Navia, Josh, and Steven—are hanging out in the lab. Donald is distracted, tinkering with a gadget. Taelyn is unusually quiet as she fidgets with her bionic comm device.
Bree asked, looking at her. "Side-eyeing Taelyn What's with you? You're acting... twitchy."
Adam gasping. "Are your circuits loose? 'Cause I saw a movie where a robot's head popped off, and—"
Taelyn interrupting. "I'm fine! Everything's fine. Just... tired from the mission, that's all."
Leo suspicious. "Yeah, sure. You only glance at the comm every five seconds when something's up."
Taelyn snapping. "Can everyone please mind their own business?"
Taelyn standing abruptly. "You know what? I need some air." She storms out of the lab. The team exchanges curious looks.
Navia shrugging. "That wasn't suspicious at all."
Josh asked, looking up. "Should we follow her?"
Steven nodded. "Nah, if she wanted us to know, she'd tell us."
Mimi eyes narrowing. "Unless it's something she doesn't want us to know."
Taelyn walks cautiously into the park, her comm device in hand. She stops under a lamppost, scanning the area. From the shadows, Marcus steps into the light. He's dressed casually, but his usual smirk is gone, replaced by a serious expression.
Marcus smiles. "Softly Hey, Taelyn."
Taelyn crossing her arms. "You have exactly two minutes to tell me why you wanted to meet."
Marcus smiling faintly. "Still as direct as ever."
Taelyn flatly. "Start talking, or I'm leaving."
Marcus sighs. "I needed to see you... to explain."
Taelyn scoffing. "Explain what? That you're a manipulative guy who can't be trusted?"
Marcus firmly. "I'm done with Maria."
Taelyn blinking in surprise. "What?"
"I cut ties with her. With all of it. Maria, Johnny... everything." Marus nodded.
Taelyn skeptical. "Oh, really? And why should I believe you?"
Marcus taking a step closer. "Because it's the truth. Maria didn't care about me. I was just a pawn to her, a weapon to use and throw away."
Taelyn angry. "And what about me? You used me too, Marcus. Or did you forget about the part where you tried to destroy my heart?"
Marcus pained. "I know I messed up, okay? I made the wrong choices. But I've changed. I'm not like Maria, Taelyn. I don't want to hurt you anymore."
