CHAPTER 25"heaven is a place on earth with you"

When I woke up I was cuddled into a warm chest and there was a dull ache in my lower body. Even before I opened my eyes, I knew Vincent was awake. I could feel him tracing circles on my back with his fingers. I shifted a little to adjust my position, wincing at the soreness between my legs.
Vincent chuckled at the way my nose scrunched at the discomfort, "Good morning."
For the most part, we were in the same position we had been in when I fell asleep, with me practically laying on top of him. Except Vincent was a bit more propped up this time with a pillow behind him.
"Good morning," I responded quietly, hugging his torso a bit tighter.
"You woke up earlier than I thought. It's six in the morning," he said, pushing a strand of hair away from my face.
"Mmm, I can tell," I mumbled and burrowed my face in his chest. My eyelids were still heavy but I don't think I could fall asleep again, not with him right there. My stomach was too fluttery, my heart beating a little too fast. I wondered if he could feel it.
He chuckled at my response and I looked up at him.
"Do you have to work today?"
It was Sunday, but sometimes he worked weekends. I selfishly hoped he would make an exception today though.
"I should go into the office," he said and then suddenly his eyes met mine, "but I don't have to."
"You're taking a day off?" I sat up and looked at him, expectantly, excitement bubbling through my nerves.
He shook his head, "No."
"Oh," I frown and cast my gaze from his face to study the gold chain around his neck. Vincent brings up a hand to tilt my head back up so my eyes meet his.
"But I don't have any meetings today," he brings his face closer to mine, "which means I can work from home." His voice drops to a deep whisper and I can't help but smile before giving his lips a quick peck. He lets out a deep breath through his nose.
"It shouldn't take long," he says quietly and then gently ushers me off him. I pout and he lets out an amused huff. "Don't look at me like that sweetheart."
I try to mask the expression on my face but it only deepens when Vincent slips out of bed. He is only in his boxers so his muscled body is on display. The need in my lower body returns as I watch him and without thinking I grab his hand before he can walk away.
He looked down at me, bemused, "Yes?"
I blush and look down, too embarrassed to say what I want. I'm not sure why I was so clingy, but I was, and I wondered if he felt the same. I reluctantly let go of his hand and he used it to caress my face, guiding my face back up to meet his.
