Three weeks had passed at Teyvat High, and somehow, in the chaotic whirlwind of school life, things had settled into a new rhythm. It was the kind of "normal" that only made sense in a place like this.
Xiao and Venti had become almost inseparable. If Xiao wasn't at Venti's house, Venti was at his. They had spent so much time together that Xiao barely even noticed how quickly the days went by. Despite his initial hesitation, Xiao had found comfort in Venti's carefree nature, and Venti, always full of energy, seemed genuinely happy to have a friend who didn't mind his constant chatter.
Childe and Scaramouche, meanwhile, were becoming their own odd duo. They spent most of their time poking fun at everyone else, laughing at all the school's absurd drama. Childe would often be the one to suggest schemes, and Scaramouche was usually on board—if only because he enjoyed stirring the pot. It wasn't unusual to find them lurking around corners, watching the chaos unfold with amused smirks.
Then there was her —the girl who had been fixated on Xiao and Venti since that first day. She had been working on her "plan" to get rid of Xiao for weeks now. But every time she got close to executing it, her nerves would get the better of her. Her friends had started getting annoyed with her constant talk of it but no action. Still, she wasn't backing down; she just needed the right moment.
Jean had been doing much better since the incident with Venti. The argument that had once weighed so heavily on her mind seemed like a distant memory now. She and Diluc had spent more time together, and her calm presence was beginning to return. Diluc had been a constant source of support, and she appreciated how patient he had been. Their relationship had deepened, and more often than not, you'd catch them smiling at each other in quiet moments, Diluc even more protective of her now.
Diluc, too, had grown closer to Venti over the last few weeks. It wasn't uncommon for the two of them to spend time together, especially when Klee was around. Venti, ever the playful one, had become something of an older brother figure to Klee, and Diluc found himself enjoying those moments of lightheartedness. It was a welcome change from the constant seriousness of his usual routine.
As for the school itself, well... Teyvat High had settled into its usual level of organized chaos. The drama had died down for now, and though there were always new rumors floating around, nothing too major had shaken up the halls since the first week. Students had found their groups, and life had fallen into its strange but familiar pattern. Between classes, mischievous antics, and the usual teenage angst, things had quieted enough for everyone to catch their breath.
Everything felt... normal . Or at least, normal to Teyvat High's standards. And in that chaos, everyone seemed to be finding their place—even if that place was a little unconventional.
Until... It wasn't.
The locker room was eerily quiet, the only sound the faint drip of water from the showers. Xiao stood by his locker, completely unaware of what was about to unfold. He'd felt something off earlier, but brushed it aside as nerves. Suddenly, the door slammed open, and two figures strode in, their faces hidden by shadows.
It was the boyfriends of the girls from that group — the same girls who had been plotting against Xiao for weeks now. He tensed as they approached, their expressions hard and malicious.
"Hey, new kid," one of them sneered. "You think you're hot stuff hanging out with Venti, huh?"
"You think you can just waltz in here, huh?" the other one snarled, his fists already clenched. "It's time you learned a lesson."
Without waiting for a response, one of them lunged at Xiao, throwing a punch aimed at his stomach. Xiao barely had time to dodge, the blow grazing his side as the other came at him from behind, grabbing him by the collar. Before he could react, they were on him. Punches came fast, fists connecting with his ribs and face. Xiao tried to block the blows, but the strength of both of them combined was too much. He felt the sharp pain of knuckles hitting his cheek, the metallic taste of blood filling his mouth.
