"Be in the car in 5, unless you want to catch the bus with the freshman again." Penny cackles as she rushes past me.

I hurriedly finish my last bites of breakfast before rushing after Penny. "Love you, mom, dad!" I yell as I put my shoes on. I hear muffled replies as I close the door.

I slide into Penny's car and open her car mirror to apply a thick layer of gloss to my lips. I turn to her confused as something dawns on me. "How are we going to get there?" I question.

Penny giggles, "What do you mean?"

"Well, Sky-High isn't on the ground." I state matter-of-factly.

She nods with a smile on her face, showing that she hears what I'm saying. Suddenly she starts to speed up, and I grip the seat in shock as the car starts to lift off of the ground.

"Oh!" I yell as we submerge fully into clouds. "Why didn't you guys tell me about this?" I question frantically.

"We didn't want to overwhelm you or make you feel worse about not having your powers!" Penny yells back sheepishly.

I roll my eyes in annoyance, choosing not to reply.

I can't lie. I felt super confident walking with my sister into school, but I didn't forget to greet Magenta and Ethan as I passed them on my way to first period.

I glance at my schedule as I make my way further down the halls. When I come across my class, I walk in to find a tall woman with long brown hair sitting behind her desk reading a book. She looks up and her almond eyes meet mine.

"You must be Paula? I was informed of your situation. Please feel free to sit anywhere." I give her a nod of understanding and make my way towards a seat by the window.

Soon enough the class begins to fill up. The woman stands up and smooths the wrinkles from her dress and begins to write on the board. "My name is Ms. Girl, otherwise known as All American. Welcome to Hero 101."

Whispers fill the class as we look at her in awe. She really embodies what a hero is down to the way she speaks and carries herself.

"Now, I want everyone to take turns saying their name and power. Starting with you." She points towards the back of the classroom.

The class, including myself, turns around to see who she's pointing at. Warren looks up through his dark hair with a very menacing stare, but when the teacher doesn't back down, he huffs and lazily pulls himself up.

"I'm Warren Peace, and I have pyrokinesis." He slumps back into his chair as the next person stands up to introduce themself.

I guess he felt my stare because his eyes soon met mine. I send him a smile, but he doesn't return it. Instead, he quickly snaps his eyes away from mine and allows them to roam the room as if he's looking for something.
