I'm in gym trying to pay attention to Coach Boomer, who is explaining the rules to the game we are about to play, Save the Citizen.

"The game is simple, save the citizen and defeat the villain. You got that?" Boomer says unenthusiastically. There are murmurs of understanding, and the gym bleachers begin to fill with students that want to watch.

I fix my knee-high socks that have slightly rolled down and run my hand over my slicked-back bun, trying to tame any flyaways. Two people are picked, a girl and a boy that I don't personally know, and they choose to be heroes. Two villains are picked afterwards. Their gym uniforms are replaced with cushioned armor, and the game begins.

It's personally my first time seeing the game in person, but I have heard a lot about it from Penny.

The heroes play a good game, but in the end they are unsuccessful. I watch as their mannequin is obliterated into tiny shards of plastic by a monstrous machine placed in the middle of the gym.

Lash and Speed are suited up next and announce that they want to be villains.

They point to Will requesting to go against him. I turn towards Will, taking in his overwhelmed expression, and place a comforting pat on his back.

"And we pick Peace." Speed points to where Warren is sitting. Was he always there? I began to feel bad that I didn't notice him earlier, and seeing him in the corner by himself made me sad. I would've sat next to him.

My heart skips a beat as Warren stands up. I go to nibble on my fingernails but stop as I remember that I just got them freshly done.

I catch his eyes as he passes me and give him a small wave. He nods at me before confidently striding over to Coach Boomer.

"I hope he's careful." I whisper to Magenta.

"Will or Warren?" She raised an eyebrow at me in a knowing manner.

"Both." I respond too quickly, causing her to laugh.

"We both know who you're worried about."

This game feels much more intense, and I almost jump out of my seat when Warren is slung across the gym. I began nervously rubbing the skin between my eyebrows as I took in both Warren's and Will's positions.

Warren manages to get back up, but it's taking Will a bit more time.

Warren accidentally throws a fireball at Coach Boomer, making the crowd laugh. I nervously chuckle as Coach Boomer glares at the students sitting in the bleachers.

I began to cheer as the heroes get the upper hand. Will ties Lash around a traffic sign, and I can't help but wince at the sight.

Speed, on the other hand, begins running around Warren at an alarming pace. I notice Warren crumble to his knees. I rush to the front where Penny and Gwen stand. "Will!" I yell out causing him to briefly glance at me. I point to Warren causing Will to notice him.
