Roger had been a monster for as long as anyone could remember, there are many reasons one can turn out cold and heartless yet in his case no one could see a trigger. He lived a comfortable home life through his childhood, his family were well off and loved him unconditionally. The man was an only child with a stay at home mother and a father who worked constantly yet loved his family more than words could describe. He grew up going to private school and surrounded himself with smart, entrepreneurial young people who had strong goals in their life which then encouraged Roger to get into business and make something of himself. Yet as money became his motive his morals seemed to slowly disappear.
His parents watched as their seemingly sweet young boy grew selfish and entitled, he would lock himself in his room, constantly demanding money from them. Roger felt as though without money life was pointless, he began looking down on those below him, shouting abuse at the kids leaving their non private schools as he walked past. He wasn't a hard worker yet the man had a talent for manipulation causing him to seem smart and almost always get his way.
As Roger got older he met a woman whom he eventually married and had two children with, a son called Reece and a baby girl called Autumn. His two children should have been a blessing to him yet the monster was utterly cold to the both of them. Roger met a man the same age as him at a business conference around the time his eldest was five and they quickly befriended one another over their love for whisky and of course money, upon finding out he had a daughter, Amelia, the same age as his son he promptly invited his new friends family over to his home the next day. Their kids got along like a house on fire and the families would meet at least once a week up until one day when Roger realised his wife was no where to be seen and written on a note sat in the kitchen were the words "I've met someone, I now know how love should feel. Look after our children"
The daughter of his new found friend had turned up to the Knight family home that day her eyes red and puffy holding a bag, the young girl looked up at Roger and told him her dad was gone before asking if she could stay over. The monster let her in his jaw half dropped as the realisation of what had happened slowly sank in.
The siblings mother was truly all they had so when they learnt she had left and finally escaped the heartless man's grasp the world shattered for the both of them. The dynamic of the home changed drastically after that day, the lack of their mothers warm presence left the house feeling constantly cold and empty.Mia was becoming a strong independent young woman and day by day she had started spending more time at the Knight family home, she slowly started getting awfully close with Autumn and from what the monster could see his daughter seemed to love the red haired girl. Mia would sit Aut down and plait her hair as she told her stories just like her mother used to before she left, it made Roger sick seeing a motherly figure in his home taking care of his daughter like his ex wife once had. He had to stop this happening and from that night forward he began putting his plan into action, soon his new favourite game would be in full swing. Divide and Conquer.
