Kyuri
Kyuri hadn't felt Chu so happy since he'd known her. She must have found something good. As much as he wanted to ask what made her so joyful, he had some important things to tend to himself. Besides, he could tell she was sleeping. Knowing her, it'd be a few months before she woke again.
After all, she had spent years on a near sleepless, hellish, single-minded hunt. Anyone else would have died a hundred times over! At least she didn't go too far down the sinister path, he made sure of that whenever he could contact her. He was happy she felt content enough to get some sleep.
But for now, he needed his full focus on this new issue.
Cell. An android currently feeding on human lives to gain strength. This wouldn't be the first threat this planet has faced since Kyuri had lived here. King Cold, Frieza's father, came to Earth with a small army of soldiers just a year after his people were sent back home. Before that was some enemy named Garlic Jr.
Not to mention dealing with Vegeta whenever he came for his internship with Bulma. The young Namekian hated the man with his entire being, silently wishing he'd trip on a stick and die somewhere in a pile of dragon dung. But nay, Bulma had developed a relationship with the man.
"I don't get what you see in him," He finally voiced it one day. "Why would you... what's the word?"
"Date him?" She supplied, earning a nod from the then nine-year-old-sized Kyuri. "Only a woman's heart will understand that, sweetie."
"I... don't get it." What does a woman's heart have to do with dating that insult to sight?
"It's perfectly fine if you don't." She laughed, amused by his clear disgust. Kyuri had more than enough reason to hate Vegeta, and he voiced that clearly whenever he was there. Though he never insulted Bulma, only asking her why she'd take interest in him. "I know being around him is hard for you."
Hard is an understatement and she knew it. She couldn't fathom being around the killer of her kin. She'd go mad, probably murder him in his sleep, and make it look like an accident. Kyuri was way stronger than her, both mentally and physically, for putting up with Vegeta's presence to help her out. And he was a kid! She'd be lying if she said his help wasn't welcome, though. He was invaluable. If anyone was in debt, it was her at this point.
"Not as much now as it was before," Kyuri said. "You are good company and make up for his punchable face."
"What'd you say about my face, brat?!" Vegeta decided to walk in at that moment, just finishing with his gravity chamber training for the day.
"That it was punchable, Bitch Prince! You hard of hearing?"
And then they'd fight for the next hour until Bulma found them and proceeded to rip them both new ones for inadvertently destroying her equipment. Of course, Kyuri could help her fix said equipment within the week. This happened more than once, and it would most likely keep happening forever. The two would never get along.
Kyuri could always hear Chu cheering him on when he got into fights with Vegeta. She'd always laugh about the "prideful ones being the most fun to break", though he'd pointedly ignore that part of her encouragement.
But for today, Kyuri would tolerate Vegeta. The fights he got into with him actually boosted his strength quite a bit. Despite his hate for the man, he was a great sparring partner who was always getting stronger. That smug face when he'd win their bouts was enough to spur Kyuri to train harder. Soon, he'd be able to properly punch him in his face.
