Zane Wolfe stood on the balcony of his penthouse, the cold wind biting at his skin as he looked out over the city. Below, the lights flickered like the broken dreams of those who had tried and failed to challenge him. He had built this empire from the ground up, each piece a testament to his ruthlessness, each decision a cold calculation. Power. Pain. Control. That was the world he knew.

But there was one thing Zane couldn't forget, one name that haunted him: Victor Sinclair.

Years ago, Dante Wolfe, Zane's father, had trusted Victor, an ally in their dangerous world. But Victor had betrayed him. A deal struck behind Dante's back with a rival faction, one that nearly destroyed the Wolfe family empire. Zane had watched as his father's health deteriorated, his strength draining away, while the shadow of betrayal lingered like a dark cloud. It was more than a simple business deal. It was a betrayal that nearly cost them everything.

Zane's mind was consumed with one thing now: revenge.

He had spent years preparing for this moment. He had watched Victor's every move, studied his weaknesses, and built the network that would finally bring him to his knees. But Zane knew that revenge, when it was done right, required more than just anger. It required precision. He needed to learn every secret, every vulnerability of Sinclair's empire. Nothing could be left to chance.

Zane walked back into his office, the steel and glass walls of his penthouse reflecting his cold, calculating gaze. He didn't need to be told what to do. His team of hackers and spies were already on the job. They were digging into Sinclair's finances, his personal life, everything. They were relentless and they would deliver. Zane trusted no one but himself, but even he knew the value of a well-placed informant.

The research was slow, but it was methodical. Every day, more pieces of the puzzle fell into place. Sinclair's dealings with shady partners. Hidden bank accounts. Shell companies. The threads were starting to unravel, and soon Zane would have the leverage he needed to destroy him.

But then, a file appeared on Zane's desk. His fingers brushed over the sleek surface of his desk before picking it up. Inside was a name.

"Ava Sinclair"

At first, Zane thought nothing of it just another name, another piece of the puzzle. But as he looked through the file, his eyes narrowed.

Ava Sinclair Victor's daughter. Intelligent. Ambitious. Far more involved in the family business than Zane had initially realized. Her education, sharp business instincts, and direct involvement in Sinclair's operations made her a force to be reckoned with. Real estate deals, offshore accounts, even covert negotiations she had a hand in it all.

Her reputation wasn't just based on her last name. Ava was cold, calculating, and had a sharp mind that made her dangerous. She didn't just inherit power; she knew how to command it.

The more Zane read, the clearer it became Ava Sinclair wasn't just a bystander in her father's empire. She was an active player, someone Zane would have to reckon with.

And now, Zane realized,
she wasn't just collateral in his quest for revenge Ava was no longer just a casualty of war-she was the war.
