❝ My dreams slice me to pieces. ❞

       "𝓐re you okay?"

Aspen squinted her eyes open to see her two dorm mates looking down at her, seemingly concerned. The mid-day light pouring in strained her eyes, and the girl came to the realisation that she was in the hospital wing.

       "What happened?" She mumbled.

The Ravenclaw girls exchanged glances before Maryam responded cautiously, "You had a night terror." Aspen furrowed her brows and tried to remember the events of last night, but her head split in pain and she gave up shortly after.

"That's what Pomfrey said at least," stated Lia. The Muggleborn girl was pacing now, slowly as opposed to the millions of miles her mind was racing in her head. "You were screaming. A lot. And you were thrashing a lot in your bed. Like you were trying to run from something, like you were trying to escape."

Aspen's eyes slid black and forth from Lia and Maryam, her eyes narrowing when suddenly she was taken back to last night's events. She could remember it now. The murky green water, she could see it. The echoing cries, she could hear it. The cold, biting air, she could feel it.

"What, what's wrong?" Lia asked. Maryam and her had noticed the girl's sudden change in expression, backing up as Aspen shot up, sitting and shrugging off the pristine sheets.

"I didn't need your help," She practically spat, trying to fix her pajamas as she attempted to shrug off her bed, making Maryam roll her eyes.

"We were only trying to help, you should have seen yourself," Maryam scoffed, crossing her arms over her chest.

"I don't need you butting into my business." Aspen said as she got up, only to be stopped by Madam Pomfrey turning the corner, her face like stone. Lia and Maryam looked at each other, avoiding the woman as she made a shooing motion, the girls stepping back as she pulled the curtain around the bed, blocking their view of Aspen.
