We arose the next morning to our uniforms. We buckled them up, throwing our Haori's over them.Mine was blue with white wave like patterns along the bottom while Tanjiro's was a black and teal checker pattern.
"Are you finished changing?"
Urokodaki asked and we nodded, turning to look over our shoulders at our mentor. Our mentor that had trained us for two long years to get to this moment.

Nezuko peeped her head from beneath her duvet, expression blank but sweet.

"Tanjiro, now that you have officially become a demon slayer swordsman, I would like to explain a few things.First, the Demon Slayer Corp uniform you're wearing is made with a special kind of fibre. It's lightweight, water resistant and non flammable.A low level demon's fangs and talons, are incapable of penetrating that fabric."
We looked at our uniforms, feeling the fabric. My uniform was slightly on the smaller side so it was a little tight on my chest but it wasn't open or anything so I made due."Impressive Hm?"
We nodded, smiling.
"Now, as for the nichirin sword, it's colour varies from owner to owner, and each hue has its own unique traits. However, there aren't many demon slayers with black blades, so little is known about them. Some believe they're a bad omen"
"How so?"
"Black swords are said to only be wielded by a swordsman who has little chance of going very far."
Tanjiro sighed a laugh, looking up."I don't care if I'm destined for greatness, because no matter what, I'll turn Nezuko back"
"Yes you will..."

Urokodaki handed Tanjiro a wooden box with straps on the back, beginning to speak "it's to carry your sister during the day."
Tanjiro nodded, that sweet smile spread across his cheeks. He helped Nezuko into her box, smiling and petting her hair.I smiled.I loved seeing him interact with his sister, it reminded me of my own siblings and it made me happy that Tanjiro was happy.

Urokodaki patted our backs as we left for our missions, both of us walking down towards the field before parting ways."I hope to see you again soon Tanjiro"I smiled, wrapping my arms around him in a soft but tight hug.He hugged me back, hands on my upper back."You too Anza"

And that was it, that was all we said before walking in opposite directions to our individual missions.I couldn't help but hope to see him again, maybe even go on a mission with him sometime soon.

It was still daytime when I got to the village, stalls still flourishing.I looked greatly out of place, everyone else was clad in floral kimonos and such.Pretty happy people for a town that's losing babies nightly.

Still, I had some time to kill while I waited for the sun to go down so I opted for hanging around near a cafe for some food.
"Just a bowl of Ramen please, I'm not too picky with toppings"
You learn to be grateful of any kind of food after training like I did back on the mountain."Is pork okay with you ma'am?"The young girl behind the counter asked and I nodded with a polite smile.

The Ramen was mediocre at best, the pork was a little bit chewy but it was good nonetheless.

The sun was slowly setting, the importance of the situation bringing me back to reality after my short lunch break. Now, if I were a baby-eating demon, where would I hide?

A nursery, that's where.

I looked around, walking towards an elderly looking lady."Excuse me, do you happen to know if there's a nursery around here?"I asked quietly, smiling. The lady looked up at me, smiling back."Of course, just down the street my dear...I hope you're well equipped, there's something terrible going on around here"
"How so?"
"There's been poor little babies going missing during the night, I believe it's..."
She leaned in to whisper."A demon"
Bingo.
"oh that sounds awful, I hope they find out what's causing it ma'am"
I smiled and she nodded, shuffling away with her little trolley.

So there I was, sword in hand and ready to attack whatever was kidnapping all these babies.
The sun was set, and I was stood outside a nice little building with flowers hanging from either side of the door.'Mrs Sato's home for Orphaned children' was written on a sign in metallic silver. The writing was a little bit chipped but not enough to struggle reading it.I was more so looking for a nursery, but it seemed an Orphanage was where I was supposed to be.I pushed on the door, opening it slightly.I knew there would be sleeping children so I tried to be as quiet as possible.

A shuffle

It was subtle, but noticeable. My head whipped to the side, sword held out in front of me.
