We race down the mountain, breathing heavily but just about managing.Atlas was kept back with Urokodaki and I felt uneasy, it's strange how quickly I became attached to a single bird but when your entire family is gone you kinda attach to the first thing you can find.

Suddenly, Tanjiro trips over a rope on the between two trees, catching himself before he fell.

Rocks fly into our face and we both fall on our backs and into a pit.A tiger pit.I gasp, the wind knocked out of me from hitting my back so hard, Tanjiro does the same."There are traps all over the mountain!Thats why this is a test!"He huffs.Thankyou, for stating the obvious, Mr Kamado.

we crawl out of the pit, shuffling on our hands and knees before standing up straight, our knees covered in mud.Today couldn't get any worse. For starters, I haven't eaten or slept in three days.Secondly, in knees deep in wet mud.And to top off a terrific day, I'm alone on a mountain with a guy I met literally 6 hours ago.Why haven't we eaten?Because apparently training is more important than basic human necessities like food and water, and my appetite is like no other.I'm hoping when we get back to Urokodaki's house he'll have food ready for us.

A log flies from the left, sending us flying into trees and onto the floor.

If we keep walking into these traps, we'll never make it back before sunrise. And the air is much thinner on this mountain. We're both gasping for air as we continue running downwards.I hope I can make it, I feel faint.

We stop, him steadying his breathing to smell out the traps and me focusing on hearing Urokodaki's heart.

I look around the mountain, hearing the soft patter of Urokodaki's heartbeat. His was soft, Tanjiro's was usually just as soft but right now it's quite fast.I can only imagine that it's because we're on a mountain with not a lot of air.

He suddenly lunges forward, and I soon follow behind him running just as fast. The only reason I can dodge the flying logs is because I can hear them approaching before they hit me, jumping to the side and dodging them.

Wait...I've lost track of Tanjiro...

I look around, still running forward but not being able to see if Tanjiro was further in the fog.

I slide beneath ropes, jumping over others and knee sliding under logs.

These traps were set by a human, Tanjiro probably already figured out that much.I can just about manage to dodge the arrows, only having them pierce through excess parts of my kimono.

My beautiful, floral kimono.I was gifted it a few months ago by my mom, she said I suited yellow.Me personally, I've never seen it but I'm going to cling to it like a lifeline.

I dodge more logs, only barely making it beneath them or around them. The issue arose when multiple bamboo sticks started falling on me.

I thrust my leg into the air, kicking the bamboo over my head.

Not today bitch...

I slide along the mud, soiling my hair and Kimono.

I better be getting something new to wear after this, and a bath...

I hobble up against a tree, the harsh bark against my palms.I can already imagine the splinters I'm gonna have later.

I look up.There it is, Urokodaki's house...I can barely make out the silhouette of Tanjiro opening the door.

I move forward, legs aching and face covered in mud as I make it outside of the door, gripping it and sliding it to the side.Tanjiro is laying against the door, catching his breath and I fall into place beside him.

My eyes hang heavy and my body feels weak.

Goodnight, Everyone.
