The sharp smell of antiseptic filled the hospital room. Jungkook sat next to Jimin's bed, holding his hand tightly. The steady beeping of the monitors was the only sound in the room. Jungkook's eyes stayed on Jimin's face, pale and tired, as his chest rose and fell with uneven breaths.

Jimin's lips curved into a small smile when he felt Jungkook's warm hand in his. "You didn't have to stay," he whispered, his voice soft but full of love.

"Don't say that," Jungkook said quickly. His voice shook as he added, "I'm not leaving you. Never."

Jimin let out a quiet laugh that turned into a weak cough. Jungkook immediately leaned forward, concern etched on his face. "Still so stubborn," Jimin said with a faint smile. "You're too loyal for your own good."

"Of course I am," Jungkook replied, squeezing Jimin's hand. "You're everything to me."

Jimin opened his eyes slowly. The usual sparkle was gone, but his love for Jungkook was still there. "Do you remember when we first met?" he asked, his voice a little stronger.

Jungkook let out a soft laugh. "How could I forget? I spilled coffee all over you."

"You were so clumsy," Jimin said, his smile growing wider. "I was so mad. I thought I'd never talk to you again."

"But I didn't give up," Jungkook said, his eyes shining with the memory. "I spent weeks apologizing. I annoyed you so much you finally agreed to one date."

"One date turned into forever," Jimin whispered.

Jungkook's smile faltered. His throat tightened, and his heart ached. "It was supposed to be forever," he said, his voice breaking.

Jimin reached up with trembling fingers and touched Jungkook's cheek. "We did have forever," he said softly. "It was just shorter than we wanted."

"Stop saying things like that," Jungkook begged, tears falling freely now. "There has to be something the doctors can do. I can't lose you, Jimin."

"Jungkook," Jimin said firmly, though his voice was still weak. "Listen to me. You have to be strong. For us. For you."

"I don't know how," Jungkook whispered. His head dropped, and he pressed his forehead against Jimin's hand. "I don't know how to live without you."

"You'll learn," Jimin said, his voice full of gentle love. "And when it's hard, remember... you promised me. You promised you'd live for both of us "

Jungkook couldn't stop the sob that broke free. "It's not fair," he said, his voice shaking. "I don't want to live in a world without you."

Jimin's eyes filled with tears, but he smiled softly. "You'll find me everywhere," he said. "In the sunrise, in the wind. I’ll always be with you."

Jungkook leaned in and kissed Jimin, a kiss full of love and desperation. When he pulled back, he rested his forehead against Jimin's. "I love you," he whispered.

"I love you more," Jimin replied, his voice faint but steady.

Later that evening, the rain tapped gently against the window. Jungkook sat in the chair next to Jimin, a book open in his hands. His voice trembled as he read aloud.

"Keep reading," Jimin whispered, his eyes barely open.

Jungkook closed the book, his hands shaking. "I can't," he said honestly. "It doesn't feel right."
