At one time, I might have read about something related to this in a book borrowed from the national library, a place frequently visited for Celian, who loved reading.

Seeing the light of understanding spread across Elysia’s face, Marcel smiled triumphantly.

“I was born with the powerful beastman bloodline of the Ragnos royal family, but until I was ten years old, it was determined that I couldn’t transform into a beast, making me an ‘invariant being.’ I am not a complete beastman.”

A fleeting sadness crossed Marcel’s face as he spoke.

Meanwhile, Elysia shuddered with astonishment. She was dumbfounded. She had never expected that he, a renowned scholar of De Ragnos and a key professor at the Panthea Academy, would harbor such a secret.

“Professor, you are… an invariant being?”

Marcel continued speaking with a slightly awkward air.

“Yes, that’s correct. I am a beastman but also not one. I possess the strength and power of my kin, but I cannot transform into a beast. My sense of smell, hearing, and sight are similar to those of ordinary humans.”

The next moment shocked Elysia. Marcel gently squeezed the hand he had been holding.

“Therefore, I feel nothing when I touch your body, Elysia. You can think of me as similar to other humans.”

Elysia felt her whole body grow cold. She felt as if the space around them in the office was flowing slowly.

“You feel nothing when you touch my body?”

Elysia feigned ignorance of his words for the moment. However, Marcel seemed to find her reaction both unconvincing and even amusing, as his lips twitched slightly.

“There is no need to hide anything from me, Elysia. I already know about your abilities.”

It was then that Marcel reached deep into the chair Elysia was sitting on.

It all happened in an instant. Elysia, wedged between Marcel and the chair, had to endure the intense gaze of this grim professor.

Struggling was useless. Just as he had said, he might be an invariant being, but his physical strength was similar to that of a beastman. The chair he held onto didn’t budge no matter how much Elysia struggled.

With a voice trembling with shock, Elysia whispered.

“What… what are you doing?”

“What do you think I’m doing? I am marveling at the greatest discovery in my research history.”
