The door to Harriet's house swung open in one great burst to let the two lovers stumble over the threshold.

Tom's hands searched Harriet's body as they kissed, her palms cupping his face.

"Where?" He growled against her as she gasped against him, whimpering even as she pulled him close.

Harriet offered him no reply while she deepened their kiss.

Tom had endured enough waiting.

Harriet had only known the pain of loneliness but Tom had known the agony of losing her.

Her green eyes locked on his dark gaze as he pushed her against the wall and grabbed her soft thighs to wrap them around his waist, pushing her skirt up.

Harriet cried out as he dove forward to bury his face in her neck as his fingers pried the thin scrap of fabric off that covered her most intimate place.

Somewhere in the back of Harriet's mjnd, she lamented the tragedy of not first inviting Tom to her nest upstairs, yet as the handsome new alpha who had charged into her life claimed her right in her foyer, the extra adventure of their rendezvous seemed to highten Harriet's own ecstacy.

—————————————————————-

It all seemed like some sort of dizzy, drunken dream, the bit of bliss that Harriet shared with her new lover.

She sighed as he held her in his arms while they cuddled in her nest sometime later, the electric fireplace warming the room while their sweat-slicked bodies whispered against each other, dampening the velvet blankets that surrounded them.

"Oh, Tom........" Harriet laughed as she lay on his shoulder, "It's as if you knew exactly what to do!"

Tom didn't bother to hide his smirk, although he decided to fully enjoy Harriet's compliment without considering the great advantages yeats of experience at making love to Harriet and being able to read her thoughts offered.

"And are you happy, my darling?" Tom asked as he looked down and tilted her chin up to meet his gaze, "Craving anything? May I get you something to eat or drink?"

"No, I.....I'm fine, thanks." Harriet said as she passed a hand over her face, "Sorry, I......I'm not sure what happened. We were just there and talking and........This is really ridiculous, isn't it? I'm too old to have a cycle!"

Tom bit his tongue knowing that women with magical blood could easily extend their childbearing years through their first century of life.

It was Harriet's latent fertility that he counted on.

"Not ridiculous at all, especially if it brings me closer to you." He smiled, "I'm just glad I was there.......There were men in that coffee shop. It's dangerous for an omega as beautiful as you to be in that state around a bunch of unmated alphas."

Harriet's cheeks flushed red and not just from her hormones as she laughed, "Thanks, Tom.....For saving me. I don't know what I would have done if you weren't there."

Tom bent down and placed another long, languid kiss on her lips.

"I'll gladly protect you, my dear, as long as you'll allow it." He purred as he breathed in the intoxicating sweetness of Harriet's hair.

As his hand drifted over her side, his eyes flickered down to her belly.

Another child conceived and born of their love would surely be enough to rekindle their mating bond, should Beth fail on her unknown quest.

Tom's thoughts lingered on his great impatience to watch Harriet waddle sound pregnant again until he blinked as she rose from the bed.

"Is everything alright?" He asked, secretly annoyed she would dare leave her nest without his permission.

"Oh, yeah, it's fine." Harriet beamed as she began to dress as she walked around the room, "I just need to run to the store."

"......For what?" Tom frowned as he sat up in bed, the covers slipping across the smooth muscles of his chest and abdomen.

"We didn't use any protection." Harriet chuckled, "I can still get the pill, though, don't worry. It'll be fine."

Tom didn't really know what pill Harriet was talking about, unfamiliar with muggle medicinal practices, but he understood its meaning.

"There's no need." He said quickly, "Forgive me, the error was mine......Sometimes I forget my condition."

"Your condition?" Harriet furrowed her brow.

Tom Riddle then told his wife perhaps the most heinous lie he had ever uttered as he shrugged and said as confidently as if he were telling her a known fact, "I'm sterile."

"Oh......" Harriet said as unneeded guilt washed over her as she thought of herself as inconsiderate, "I'm sorry, I hope I didn't offend you, I was just thinking-"

"There's no need to apologize, sweetling." Tom whispered as he reached towards her, "Just come back to me, won't you? I don't like to dwell on it, it make me rather sad."

In that moment, Tom could have told Harriet the truth, or at least a form of it, or at least a little less of a lie.

Instead, he held to his own spoken falsehood as Harriet abandoned her mission of dressing, sauntered back over to bed, and climbed back into her mate's arms.

As Tom made certain to spend the rest of the night doing his very best to impregnate his darling again, Harriet enjoyed herself freely believing that the man making love to her was completely unable of helping her conceive.
