A bright glowing white light lit was the only thing I could see for a couple minutes. I blinked repeatedly trying to get my vision back, and when this eventually happens I realize I am in Jace's private hospital wing. The curtains around me are all white and so are the walls, sheets and floor. In fact the only things that aren't white are the machines that I seem to be hooked up to.
I try to stand up, but I feel something holding me down, I look towards my arms and see restraints shackling me to the table. Pulling my arms up as hard as I can, I break off the bands and slowly sit up. As I do so the pain in my ribs becomes noticeable and I grimace. I reach down to undo the restraints on my ankles and make to get up when I realize the tubes in my arm connect to the machine. I rip them out, stand up and stretch my arms up as high as they go, ignoring the pang in my ribs. I take off my white rode like thing, that seems excessively fancy, and put on what are clearly my clothes that someone had left next to my bed.
I set off in the direction of the main hall to look for Jace so I can apologize to him and Tyler, but when I get there the room is empty. Confused, I start up the stairs towards our bedroom thinking it may be earlier then I thought and Jace may still be asleep. The bedroom is completely empty, so I start to shout Jace's name in the hopes that he'll hear me. By the time I've searched almost the entire house I start to feel annoyed with Jace. He should have been there for me when I woke up! Even though I know thats irrational I still feel he should have at least asked someone to notify him when I wake up. Its like he doesn't even care, and its not like I was even out for very long, it couldn't have been more than a week, its still basically the same weather as before.
"Oh!" I exclaim out loud to the empty hallway. Struck by my stupidity I proceed to check the planning room which I had overlooked on my initial search of the house. As I draw closer I hear voices and know I'm in the right spot. I decide to get Jace back for not paying me any attention while I was out by scaring him. I grab the doorknob and quickly turn it bursting into the room with a loud "SURPRISE!!". I smile jubilantly looking around for Jace, when I see him though my smile falls. Jace is deathly pale and looks like he's seen a ghost. Although I was initially worried I start to laugh thinking I had scared him with my entrance. " Haha thats what you get for not being there when I woke up" I giggle. Jace however goes a very light very sickly green and takes a tentative step forward. He looks me in the eye and whispers in a chillingly haunted voice, "But... you're dead."
