“Ay, Ate Ads” Gab said, stepping into the girls' apartment.

“Uy, Gab, pasok ka,” Clover greeted with a smile, breaking away from the hug with Addison.

“Sorry sa istorbo,” Gab continued, rubbing the back of his neck nervously. “Sabi kasi ni Shan puntahan ko daw siya.”

“Ah, lumabas bumili ng ice cream,” Clover replied casually. “Pero sunduin ko na lang, puntahan ko siya.” “Ah, sige, dito na lang ako, garod,” Gab said, sitting down on the couch.

“Ate Ads, hinatid ka ba ni Mackie?” Gab asked, glancing over as Addison paused by the door. “Hindi na eh,” Addison explained, glancing back at him. “I don't think she's back from her emergency call pa.”

“Weh? Parang nakita ko auto niya kanina eh,” Gab said, raising an eyebrow, clearly confused. Addison frowned slightly, puzzled by his words.

Someone called Gab. "Oh?" she answered, her tone sharp. "Huh? Saan galing?" she asked, clearly confused. "Gegege, punta na!" Gab said in a rush, her urgency palpable.

Addison, even more puzzled, tried to lighten the mood. "Parang busy night ah."

"Ah, Ate Addison, pasabi po kay bebe, may text na lang ako. Kailangan ko na umalis eh," Gab said quickly, barely pausing to catch her breath. “Sige, sige, mag-ingat ka," Addison said, walking Gab out as she hurried away.

"Oh, asaan si Gab?" Clover asked, entering the house with Mandy and Shan. "Nag-text daw sayo, Shan. May emergency na naman ata eh," Addison replied, still a little confused. "Ate Ads, open mo news channel 3," Mandy said, glancing at her phone.

"Huh? Bakit?" Addison asked, confused, but she turned on the TV anyway.

Breaking News: "ALAS member Mackenzie and social media personality Dior have announced that they are dating, confirmed by their company."
Addison froze, the room falling silent as the words sank in.

“Ate Ads…” Mandy called, her voice soft, noticing Addison’s distant stare.

Addison snapped back to reality, her heart racing. “I have to go see Mackenzie right now,” she said, standing up abruptly.

“Ate Ads…” Shan tried to stop her, concern lacing her voice.

“We don’t know the whole story yet,” Addison replied, her tone firm. “Let me talk to her.” Without another word, she walked toward the door.

Clover watched her for a moment, then sighed, getting up to follow. “Addison!” she called out, her voice carrying a mix of worry and frustration.

Addison turned, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. “Clo! Please… I need to talk to her.”

Clover softened at the sight of her friend’s distress. She walked over and opened the car door for Addison. “I’ll drive you,” she said quietly, her voice full of quiet support.

“Mackie?!” Addison shouted, her voice breaking as she pounded desperately on the door. “Mackie?! Talk to me!” She knocked again, her hands trembling. “Mackenzie Lim, buksan mo ‘to!” Her voice cracked, tears streaming down her face.

The lights in the neighboring apartments flickered on, annoyed murmurs drifting through the thin walls.

“Jhai?! Gab?! Buksan niyo ‘to!” Addison called out, her heart racing. “Ma’am Addison?” The security guard’s voice was soft but firm, his head poking around the corner. “Ma’am, pasensya na po, gabi na po kasi, marami nang nagrereklamo,” he explained, his tone apologetic but strict. “Kuya, pasensya na… baka pwede niyong buksan? Gusto ko lang po kausapin si Mackie,” Addison pleaded, her tears falling freely now.

The guard hesitated, sympathy flashing across his face, but he shook his head. “Ma’am, hindi po pwede ‘yun, alam niyo naman po…”

Before Addison could respond, a voice interrupted. “Ah, Kuya, ako na po bahala sa kanya.”  Clover appeared, her presence like a quiet anchor. She stepped forward, gently guiding Addison away from the door. “Tara na, uwi na tayo,” Clover said softly, cradling Addison against her side as she felt the weight of her friend’s heartbreak.

Addison’s knees buckled, and Clover held her close as she broke down, the sound of her sobs echoing in the hallway.

“Boss Clover!” The guard’s voice echoed through the quiet parking lot, causing both of them to pause.

Clover turned, her brows furrowing as the guard approached, leaning in to whisper something urgently in her ear. Her expression shifted to one of confusion and surprise, her eyes widening for a moment.

“Let’s go,” Clover said softly, quickly guiding Addison toward the car, her pace quickening as she processed whatever the guard had just told her.
