"Clo," Addison calls softly, her voice breaking the quiet stillness as she sits beside her.
"Uy," Clover murmurs, stirring awake on the couch. She blinks sleepily, rubbing her eyes. "Ininit ko yung pagkain. Baka kako gutom ka," she says with a gentle smile.
"Salamat," Addison replies, her voice laced with sincerity. She glances at Clover, her brows furrowing. "Bakit dito ka natulog?" she asks, confused.
"Baka kako magising ka ng hatinggabi," Clover replies with a warm, teasing grin.
Addison's chest tightens, overwhelmed by a wave of gratitude. She looks at Clover, who never seems to falter in her care. "I can't tell you how grateful I am for you always being here," she says, her voice trembling.
Clover reaches over, brushing away the tears spilling from Addison's eyes. "Oh, iiyak na naman. Tama na, baka pumangit ka," she teases softly, her touch as light as her words.
In that moment, the quiet room feels full—of warmth, of unspoken love, of a bond that needs no words to be understood.
"Clo... mali ba na minahal ko siya? Na mahal ko pa rin siya?" Addison's voice trembled as she lowered her head, her gaze fixed on the floor.
Clover took a deep breath, her chest tightening at the sight of her friend's pain. She understood too well what Addison was going through, and it crushed her to know that just being here was all she could offer. If she could, she would take all the pain onto herself just to stop the tears from falling.
"Hindi," Clover said softly, her voice steady but warm. "Hindi ka mali. Tao ka lang... nagmamahal ng totoo."
Addison let out a weak chuckle through her tears. "Clo... wag mo sasaktan ng ganito si Mandy, ha? Sasapakin talaga kita."
Clover couldn't help but laugh, a brief moment of lightness breaking through the heaviness. "Aba, syempre hindi! Takot ko na lang sa inyong tatlo," she joked, trying to ease Addison's mood.
Addison's smile faded slightly as her eyes met Clover's. "I know... nasaktan kita before," she said, guilt creeping into her voice.
Clover sighed, shaking her head. "Hindi mo naman ako sinaktan," she replied gently. "Tsaka... I think kinailangan ko yun. Para marealize ko rin yung taong para sa'kin talaga."
Her gaze softened as it shifted to her phone, where a picture of Mandy glowed on the screen. Addison followed her eyes, a small, teasing grin tugging at her lips. "Broken na nga yung tao, tapos ganyan pa kayo," she said, rolling her eyes.
They both laughed, the kind of laugh that came from shared scars and unspoken understanding. For a moment, the weight in the air felt a little lighter, until.
"Uhm, hello?" a voice calls out as the door creaks open. Clover and Addison exchange startled glances before standing.
"Bakit ka andito, Dior?" Clover's tone is sharp, frustration evident in her eyes.
Dior steps further inside, a sly smile tugging at her lips as she places a box on the table. "I'm just here to return some things you left at the company."
"Umalis ka na," Clover says, positioning herself protectively in front of Addison.
"How hospitable," Dior remarks, her voice dripping with sarcasm. She turns to Addison, a false sweetness in her expression. "Oh, and before I forget, Addison, kindly remove my girlfriend from your socials."
Addison stiffens, her voice trembling with restrained anger. "Bakit ba ganyan ka sakin? May nagawa ba akong masama?"
Dior smirks, leaning against the wall, clearly enjoying the tension. "I saw the way you looked at her. You thought you could just slide in and take what's mine."
