Y/N's P.O.V

—7 years ago, Last Drop basement—

I turned in my bed once more. I just couldn't find a comfortable position to sleep in. Then I heard something small hit the ground. -"Oh shoot!" A soft whisper echoed through the room. Not shortly after some kind of small screw rolled to my bed. In the dark I could see Powder. She peaked from behind the blanket that hanged from the bunk bed. Vi helped her set it up so she can do her own stuff without Mylo getting in her hair all the time. She seemed to be looking for the screw that was now laying near my bed. I picked it up and walked to her, minding all the creaky tiles, so I wouldn't wake the others. I kneeled down to her level. -"Looking for this?" I whispered and showed her the screw. She got quite startled but smiled at me and took it. -"We have that big job coming up tomorrow. Shouldn't you be sleeping?" She said, carefully looking up to see if Vi's awake. Luckily she was still out cold. -"Shouldn't you?" I smiled at her. She nodded her head towards her bed and pushed the blanket out of the way for me.

As soon as I got in she let go of the blanket again and I got a good look on what she was doing. We sat across from each other on her bed. She had a few screws and springs laying there. -"I think I'm really close to figuring out why Mouser didn't work. I couldn't sleep until I tried it." She said and tried putting the screw into the bomb. -"Woah, don't blow us up, okay?" I chuckled and ruffled her hair a bit. -"Don't worry." She smiled. -"It can only go off if I place this key there and turn it. Without it it's harmless." She explained with joy written all over her face.

I looked at her wall and it was filled with drawings of all her inventions and even of me and Vi. -"So, any new inventions you need help with?" I asked her. -"Not really. I wanna make sure Mouser works first. But I have an idea for a cool shark rocket launcher." She replied, placing Mouser on the side. We chatted a bit more but it wasn't long until she yawned and I knew it's time to go to sleep. I got her to bed and laid beside her.

-"Are you excited for tomorrow? If we pull it off we'll be so rich you can have your own room." I said while gently drawing on her face with my finger. The heat of my hand always seemed to soothe her. -"I'd love that." She yawned once more. I continued the gentle drawing until she slowly closed her eyes and her breathing became quiet and steady. -"Good night, Powder." I caressed her cheek one last time and then left the bed.

When I stood up I stretched my back a little while yawning. -"Thanks, Match." I heard a soft whisper and looked up. Vi was smiling at me from her bed. -"You always know what to say, don't you?" She said. -"And yet, I always stutter talking to you." I replied. -"That makes you even cuter." She leaned to me and kissed my cheek. -"You should go and get some rest. Wouldn't want you falling behing tomorrow." She said and got comfortable in her bed again. -"You wish. Maybe then you'd actually have a chance of beating me." I replied and went to my bed too. I heard her chuckle. -"Good night, Match." She said sweetly. -"Night, Vi."

—Present—

-"Cait, if you have a clear shot. Take it." Vi said, bringing my head back in the game. -"Be on your guard. Especially you." Cait turned to me. -"Last time you were her target. Let's expect the same now." She added. I just nodded with a sad expression. Vi placed her hand at my shoulder. -"Let's get this over with." She said and we walked inside.

Me and Vi went ahead while Cait found a good spot to shoot from. -"Powder!" I yelled but the only thing I heard was my own echo. -"Powder please, we can still talk about this!" I tried speaking to her again but got no response. -"Pow-" -"Jinx!" Vi yelled angrily. -"Finally got the name right!" Almost immidiately we heard her raspy voice, although I wasn't sure where it was coming from. And like on cue we saw her appear infront of us.
