saturday came and michael's hair was still turquoise.
he and karen rang the doorbell of the blonde boys house.
luke's mom, liz, swung the door open and smiled. michael peeked inside. his hair turned beige, confusion.
the house was empty. why isn't anybody here yet?
am I early? he thought and looked at his watch.
no..I'm late... did everyone leave already?
"come in! I'm liz" she introduced and opened the door wider.
luke came running down the hall.
"hi Michael!" he exclaimed happily.
"hi! happy birthday!" michael said, his hair turning back to turquoise.

luke took michael into his room to show him his cool toys and Michael couldn't help but gasp in awe as he looked at them.
meanwhile in the living room, the two mothers were there sipping on their teas.
"sorry we were late. mikey didn't know what to wear or bring since he's never been to a birthday party before, so I had to help him." Karen explained.
"oh it's fine," Liz replied.
"umm...where are all the other kids?" Karen couldn't help but ask.
"well about that...you guys were the only ones who came."

"guys! it's time to open presents and eat cake!" Liz called and the two boys came dashing out of Luke's bedroom.
from his mother, luke got mini guitar. which he started to play some "jams" on it right when it was opened. and by "jams", it was putting his short, tiny fingers on the untuned strings of the instrument on random frets. (oh my god that doesn't make any sense sorry)
from michael and Karen, he got some water shooting nerf guns and the kinds you put little foam bullets on them.
"yes! nerf guns! all the cool kids in school have these! thank you Michael!" luke exclaimed.
seeing Luke so happy, michael's hair turned gold. metallic gold to be exact. his hair was shining, reflecting light all around the room.
karen gasped. she had never seen her son's hair in this color before.
gold. true happiness, love.
