Chapter Nine

Steven woke up to the sound of stomping. He rubbed his eyes and opened them before looking out the window. The sun was just rising, making everything look orange. Steven saw figures marching on the beach. Steven rubbed his eyes again. Hundreds of gems were marching on the beach towards the temple.

"Garnet! Amethyst! Pearl!" Steven yelled, changing into his jeans and t-shirt.

The gems rushed out of their rooms.

"What's wrong?" asked Pearl.

"That sound," said Garnet, looking out the window.

Pearl gasped.

"I-it's th-the-" started Pearl.

"The Homworld Gems!" yelled Amethyst.

Steven ran down the stairs and went by the gems.

"What are we going to do?" he asked.

Lapis walked into the beach house, her face pale.

"They are back. Yellow Diamond is here."

The gems looked at each other. The stomping stopped.

"Crystal Gems," announced a cold, stern voice from outside. "Come outside for your demise. We, the Homeworld Gems, with take back this planet as our own."

A loud creak broke through the silence after the announcement. The Crystal Gems turned their heads toward the couch. Ametrine was standing up. She looked over at them and walked to the door.

Ametrine looked back as she opened up the screen door and the wooden door. "Well, come on. Let's go."

Ametrine walked out the door. Garnet followed, and Pearl went behind her. Amethyst then went after Pearl, and Steven followed Amethyst. Lapis bit her bottom lip as she followed Steven, closing the doors behind her as she walked outside.

The gems, Lapis, and Ametrine stood facing the gem army in front of them. Four figures stood in the front. A skinny bright yellow figure, with yellow eyes and hair like Peridot's stood right in the middle. In her hands were chains.

The chains were attached to a girl a few yards behind her. The girl, half human and half gem, had a green jade in between her shoulder blades. Her shoulder-length red hair was wavy and she was wearing a plain white dress with white sandals. Claire Jade Galaxy was looking at the ground, her chained wrists in front of her.

To the yellow figure's left was Peridot, a smug look on her face as her arms were crossed. Both her feet were intact. Jasper stood on the left side of Peridot, smiling evilly at the Crystal Gems. Her arms were on her hips.

On the right side of the yellow figure was a tall woman in a long, dark green ballgown, with lace sleeves going down all the way to her hands. Her skin was grass green, and her dark green hair was curly, with brown highlights, and reached down to her feet. She was wearing dark green heeled boots. Her eyes were bright, reflecting many shades of brown and green, and her hands were folded in front of her.

"Ah, the Crystal Gems," said the yellow figure, walking towards the Crystal Gems. The three gems next to her copied her footsteps forward. "As you know, I am Yellow Diamond. But, Pink Diamond, or-" Yellow Diamond chuckled. "Our little Rose has not met me has not met me."

The Crystal Gems and Lapis blocked Steven from Yellow Diamond, as Steven yelled, "I'm Steven!". Lion rushed up by the gems to block Steven as well. Ametrine did not move.

"Will you give Earth up to us?" asked Yellow Diamond, looking at each of the Gems in turn.

"Never!" yelled the Gems and Lapis. Lion roared.

"Okay then," Yellow Diamond turned around, looking back at her army, before turning back to the Crystal Gems. "Before we begin, we are missing a member of our army."

"Agate?" asked the gem in dark green. She walked up to Ametrine.

"Who is Agate?" asked Steven, looking over at Ametrine.

"Me." Ametrine smiled at the gems before walking in front of the dark green gem.

Ametrine glowed a bright orange color and unfused. Two gems were standing there. One orange and yellow gem with a pixie haircut, wearing a halter romper. An orange gem was on the back of her neck. The other gem was purple with long lavender hair wearing a lavender dress. Her gem was on her throat.

"I am Agate," said the orange gem. Agate bowed, and smirked as she stood back up.

"And I am Charoite," said the purple gem. Charoite curtsied before smirking identical to Agate.

"This is my adoptive mom, Emerald," Agate said, hugging the green woman.

"What about your close friend? F-from Homeworld?" asked Steven.

"My close friend? That was Charoite, but she never left," Agate said.
