"Garnet? Amethyst? Pearl?" called Steven.

He was looking out the window in his bedroom.

"Yes?" asked Garnet, the first on out of her room.

"The o-"

"What's wrong?" asked Pearl, rushing out of her room.

"The o-" started Steven again.

"Hey! What's the-" Amethyst yawned. "-the problem?"

The gems walked up the stairs and sat on the bed next to Steven.

"Th-the ocean! It's flooding!" exclaimed Steven.

"What!?" yelled the gems.

The four of them looked out the window. The water was waded up to the deck of the beach house. The crystal blue ocean was now more of a teal color, but it still kept moving faster. It was a bright sunny day, without a cloud in the sky.

Pearl paled. "What could this m-?"

Garnet interrupted her. "It's Malachite. Lapis must have lost control."

The four of them rushed down the stairs to the patio. No one noticed that Ametrine was looking out the front window, showing no emotion.

The gems looked around on the patio. The water has not rose enough to get to the town-yet. Steven looked around the increasing waters and saw a flash of cotton candy pink.

"Lion!" Steven shouted, rushing over to the edge of the porch where the water meets it.

Lion's upper body popped out of the water, and he supported his front paws on the churning water . He made makes a low growl and struggles to move above water. Lion boosted himself up and ran across the water onto the porch. Steven hugged Lion, even though Lion was soaking wet. Lion shook the water off of him, getting the gems wet.

"Ugh, Lion!" screeched Pearl.

The gems forced the water off of them. A scream split through the day.

"Lapis," whispered Steven.

A dark green light shown in the middle of the water. It grew brighter until an enormous green figure emerged from the water.

'Malachite!" yelled Garnet.

Malachite looked over at the gems on the porch.

"Help," she said over the force of the water.

Malachite glowed before diffusing. Lapis flew towards the porch and Jasper flew towards where the ocean should be. The water receded as the two gems flew. Lapis landed in the sand right by the stairs to the porch and Jasper landed in the actual ocean.

"Lapis!" Steven yelled as he ran down the stairs. The gems and Lion followed him.

Lapis was on her stomach, laying on the sand. Steven reached Lapis first and pushed her to sit up. Lapis opened her eyes and gasped.

"Jasper....I couldn't....hold her....anymore.. Someone.....interfering..." Lapis said.

The gems looked back at each other. Garnet's face was stern. Pearl kept opening her mouth and closing it, at loss for words. Amethyst was putting her hands through her mane. Ametrine was crossing her arms.

"What happened?" asked Garnet

Lapis looked around at each of the gems, catching her breath before addressing Garnet. "I was trying to hold Jasper back at Malachite, like I have been doing for months now. At some points I started blacking out. I could not remember what I was doing. I would only remember actually getting up from laying down. That was before I started doubting myself. I started to think, Just rest a little, and you will be okay. She will still be there. I would almost let her go, before realizing what I was doing. I do not know what happened now. I guess I blacked out, because I remember being told to rest. I ignored it, before waking up from a gap in my memory."

"And now Jasper is free," muttered Garnet, who was looking out at the ocean.

"What are we going to do?" asked Pearl.

"We go look for her," Garnet said.

Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl walked off towards the water.

"Can I come with?" asked Steven as he ran towards them.

"No. You can stay with Lapis and Ametrine," said Garnet.

Steven walked back to Lapis, who was trying to stand up, and Ametrine, whose arms are still crossed.

"Ametrine can you help Lapis?" asked Steven.

Ametrine nodded and stepped toward Lapis.

Lapis put a hand out to block Ametrine. "I do not need help."

Lapis stumbled as she tried to walk. She fell down into the sand. She thrusted herself up and stood. She clumped over to the stairs and used to the rail to steady herself as she headed to the beach house. Steven followed her, and Ametrine slumped behind.
