Chapter 2: Sevride

Captain Casey asked," How long have you known Audrey? I think that's her name.
Sevride"She's a childhood friend.
Our fathers have known each other since we were young. His dad always wished that she was not a writer. He wanted her in the military or as a businesswoman. He had zero chill.
She always had obvious bruises.
He hated me as I always defended one
Her father also wanted her to marry one of the sons of his military buddies who would have abused her, no doubt."
Casey"Whoa that's a lot.
Thank you for being there for her,"
Thirty minutes later, Cruz yelled, "Sevride, Casey, someone is here. Looks like they bought food."
Kelly Sevride and Matthew Casey walked out to see Audrey Collins standing there with arms full of food containers.
Audrey said "I made this for the crew members. Can we reheat it now?"
Kelly: "Audrey, this is so much food.
Did you bring one of those cookies?"
Audrey responded , "I love to serve food and was meant to be a writer.
He has one of my unpublished stories
Did you finish it yet Kelly?'
Kelly Sevride chuckled. "Audrey, your story is excellently written."
Casey"Sounds like a great story. What's it about?"
Audrey blushed"Umm...It's about... Firehouse 66. Also, it's about two Lieut ants who are married. "
Casey: "Wow, sounds good. I will give it a read too. After the crew members took the food containers, she took off her backpack and pulled out a second printed copy of the story she had written. Audrey handed it to Casey.
Casey read the first couple of pages and said
"Wow, Sev ,shes a great writer."
Kelly said"I've known that since we were kids.
I thought that I was the one who appreciated her work."
Audrey blushed and grinned as the crew members enjoyed her cooking.
Sylvie "How did you learn to cook like this?"
Audrey"My grandma and my best friend's grandma. But my friend and her grandma moved away just before we moved to Chicago.
After I moved here Kelly Sevride was my only real friend. He always defended me."
Kelly Sevride: "Audrey, you could not be, it any sweeter. "
Hermann"This pasta is homemade. It makes all the difference."
Cruz, Capp, and Tony all agreed on how it was so good.
After everyone thanked her, she went to sit in a quiet place. A few moments later, Kelly Sevride entered his quarters seeing Audrey sitting on the bed, grinning. Kelly Sevride said, "Audrey, you, seemed overwhelmed before. Do you need some comfort? We should be quiet though."
As he lay beside her rolling her over towards
him and pulling her close.
Audrey blushed kissing him.
He whispered "I hope we do get married someday. I could not protect you any better than if I was your husband."
Audrey kissed him and whispered"I always wanted to marry you. But I also know somehow you and Stella, I think that was her name.
I just want to spend as much time with you until the day she will, jin the crew here."
Kelly: "Audrey, how could you possibly know that and be so sure?"
Audrey "Call it women's intuition.
Anyway, I'd forgive you if you married her and not me. I could not say no to you at all, darling.
Audrey's eyes closed as he kissed her forehead.
He said, "You are going to be safe whether or not we get married."
Audrey curled into his chest falling asleep.
Quite some time later the bells went off.
Kelly groaned."I've got to go, Audrey. I promise I will be back."
Audrey kissed him"Don't go. I need you, my love."
Kelly kissed the top of her head and said
"I have to go now. I will see you back at my place later My Sweet Audrey ."
After the crew left ... Audrey got a ride back from Cindy Hermann.
Cindy "Sevride's childhood friend, huh?"
Audrey"Yes,, I was, and we might get married. But I think He is more likely to marry Stella, that girl he met in the fire academy."
Cindy"Why would you say that?
Also, you might be right. They did seem to get along well."
Audrey: "You know, he was the only one who ever defended."
Cind, eah, my husband did mention that after you fed the crew members."
Audrey: "I always loved him. Maybe
You want to see the necklace he bought for me back in high school. Cindy"Yeah a lright we, are here let's have a look
at that necklace.
They went in and
took the necklace out of the safe.
Audrey showed Cindy the necklace.
Cindy "Wow, this seems like he did love u a lot."
Audrey"He still does. You know something he was my first and only."
Cindy"So that means if you don't marry him and maybe. Don't try someone different; you will be alright. I think you write stories, and you never publish them."
Audrey went up and put the necklace away and
brought down another copy of her story handing it to Cindy.
Cindy: "I'll read this, later."
Audrey, "Thank you. Look in the fr ge and freezer maybe you can take some of the abundance of. Shed I made f, or him when he was discharged from the hospital the other day."
Cindy "Looks like you make your pasta, too.
Those cookies on the counter did you make them too?"
Audrey"Yes, I made them too. I made a list of cookies and other things for the crew., I'm sure
They will like them, almost as much as Kelly does."
Cindy took one of each kind of cookie.
She tried them.
She said,"Audrey, these are excellent."
Audrey "Thanks, Cindy. When will he be off shift ?"
Cindy"Around six or seven pm.
Audrey "I want to surprise him. What abusive do I have for him? So when he walks into the door, it's ready for him to eat."
Cindy looked at the fridge seeing some Italian sausages.
Cindy said"These ,and some of the salads you made."
Audrey nodded."Thank you, Cindy."
After a nap, ,Audrey bussied herself with heating his dinner and putting it on the kitchen table on a platter with a lid.
Kelly walked in the door smelling the dinner.
Kelly"Audrey, sweetie, I can't wait to eat it.
Those salads look amazing."
As they finished dinner, she noticed he seemed very tense. Audrey stood up, moving around the table to rub his shoulders.
As he begins to rub his shoulders, first. He a low groan, feeling the stress and retention start to melt away.
A Rey whispered, "Let's go upstairs where I message you better, huh, handsome?"
Kelly obediently overate the stairs and followed him.
He lay down, and she massaged his sho first. Then she noticed the tension that had gathered in his stomach.
She rubbed his middle and lower back, hoping to give him a bit of relief.
Audrey: "Looks li,ke someone over ate a bit, huh?
How about  some water and ginger ale."
She quickly turned with the tumbler of water and some ginger ale.
Audrey said"Drink it will help get things going.
Maybe we should go for a walk for a little while to help digestion, huh?
Kelly nodded with a slight, grimaced and said.
"A walk sounds nice let's go."
They walked three miles and reached a gas station. Going in the mini Mart, he kissed her forehead before seeking relief. He returned to her side.
Kelly said,"Audrey darling, this is much better."
Audrey "That's great, my love. Let's walk and I will finish giving you that massage.
I think you need a bit more of  relaxation tonight after I finish giving you that massage."
Kelly," Audrey, that sounds wonderful. ."
A few minutes, later, they got home and were in bed. She massaged him.
They both felt wiped out after all the events of
their day. Audrey curled into his c.hest and his arms locked tightly around her body. They fell asleep quickly. He woke up the next morning to her crying in her sleep.
He kissed her passionately whispering.
"Hay Audrey darling, there is no reason for you to cry. I'm right here with you."
Audrey was still asleep when she put her head on his shoulder.
As Audrey woke up her hand sleepily trailed over him.
Kelly whispered,"Looks like someone wants to play a dangerous game huh Audrey?"
Audrey was still asleep and she moaned in her sleep.
Kelly kissed her."Audrey, come on, wake up."
Audrey finally yawned also stretching.
Audrey said "I need you right now.
I know my accidental touch well was asleep
made it much less easy for you to resist me."
Kelly chuckled softly, kissing her.
Then he said, "Audrey, maybe we should slow down. I don't think you want to get pregnant.,"
Audrey"I always wanted to give you kids
Since we were younger. But my father. You  won't hurt.,
birth control. One of the implants ones.
You feel so unbelievably good. I can't resist your touch, your love. You get me ,so wet. I always did for you. "
Kelly groaned kissing her lips passionately.
Audrey gently squirmed out of her pants and panties. Audrey returned his passionate kiss.
She grabbed his stiff member and rubbed it. She whispered, "Kel,, my love, you are so ready for me. I... Ohhhh...she trailed off as she felt him enter inside her.
Sometime later, he groaned,"Audrey I....."
he could not even get the words out before he came.
Audrey screamed, orgasming a second time.
He kissed her passionately again.
Audrey moaned again as she was sure she felt herself ovulate.
Kelly"Audrey  did you just... Ovulate darling?"
Audrey "Y... Yes...I,...I  did, my love.
Should I go and get a pregnancy test at the doctor's, office later today, my love?"
Kelly nodded. "Yeah, we will schedule it for later. Or we can go to the ED and they will give you one."
Audrey blushed."Alright, let's go to the ED for that pregnancy test before your shift starts. The money went to the ED
for the pregnancy, test. Audrey had drank lots of water. Nurse April led them to a room.
When she closed the door she asked
"Need a pregnancy test?
I will be right back with that."
When April returned with the test. Audrey  went  into the bathroom and gave the needed sample.
While giving the sample, Audrey was nervous, and a belch slipped out. She hoped neither Kelly nor, Nurse April could hear it.
She set the sample on the back of the toil, et and sighed as she finished urinating.
While Audrey washed, her hands, she felt a larger belch come out.
When she exited the bathroom, Nurse April returned  to take the  sample and said I will have it rushed. The results should be in twenty minutes."
Twenty minutes later the nurse returned with
the results.
April"Looks like Audrey is pregnant."
After April left Kelly grinning said
"Audrey we are going to be parents."
He hugged her, noticing tears in her eyes, and gently wiped them away.
Kelly: "Audrey, don't worry about it. That will only hurt you and the little ones."
Audrey": These happy tears, my love."
Kelly stepped out to talk to the nurses.
Audrey plugged in a radio she found in a cabinet turning it up before going into the bathroom and letting out a massive belch.
She felt better after that.
Nurse Maggie followed him into the room with a doctor in tow.
Audrey was given injectable anti-nausea meds.
After the meds were in and the medical staff was gone. Audrey blushed as she walked into the bathroom before she expelled a painful release of gas.
When she returned Kelly said
"Audrey darling, it looks like your stomach can't handle how much you have been eating in the last two days."
By the time Audrey was five months along
some people at her job at headquarters asked
"Who there was  who the father was?
Audrey responded"I think I will be Dismissed
I can't lose this job."
Later in her office, she receives a text from Kelly.
The text reads, Audrey my darling, you are feeling all right?
Should I pick you up or get a ride for you?"
Before she could reply to his text she belched and passed out.
Kelly 's instincts kicked in and he texted Trudy.
Trudy ,As you know Audrey is five months pregnant with my baby. I think she just passed out in her office at headquarters. I don't want to get her dismissed from the job because she is pregnant with my kid but we are not married.
Can you help get someone there to get her back I will meet them at our place. Thanks, Trudy."
Trudy replied"Let's get this taken care of Jay and Ruzek will be over to get her. Bring the medics we will probably need to take her to Med."
Audrey 's co-workers are worried when they see the two detectives carry her out.
They tried to figure out who the father of her child was. The two detectives did not forget her purse go bag and cell phone.
The hurried back to Kelly's apartment.
When they arrived Kelly and Sylvie Brett were there.
Kelly carried Audrey up to the bed so Sylvie could start her assessment.
As Sylvie started to press on Audrey's stomach
Audrey's eyes started to flick open.
Audrey stammered, "K... Kelly and...S...Sylvie...
What happened? W....Why am I....I'm cramping so badly?"
Kelly and Sylvie nervously glanced at each other.
Sylvie said"Audrey the good news is you are not in pre- term labor. The bad news is that we don't know why your cramps are so bad.
It also is not a miscarriage."
Audrey suddenly belched loudly and painfully.
After she was able to say.
"Before I passed out Kelly had texted me and before I could respond I belched and passed out. There was and still is so much pressure and pain in my stomach maybe I should use the bathroom huh?"
Audrey got up and went into the bathroom for a while she struggled groaning in pain and belching before her bowels moved intensely.
Audrey came out of the bathroom and said,
"This feels much better but I think there is some residual gas trapped inside because it still kind of hurts. Can I have a cup of lemon ginger tea to settle my stomach."
Kelly feeling relieved she was doing better left retiring and handing Audrey. He said"Audrey darling drink it slowly my love."
As Audrey obeyed drinking slowly and as she did her stomach rumbled she let out a series of
large belches as her stomach started to settle.
Suddenly Audrey blushed feeling herself about to pass gas. It slipped out.
Audrey blushed a deeper shade of red she stammered"E..Excuse..m...me....t....that ....w...
was.....s......so......e....embarrassing....a....and...I...
I....th....think....m....more...s...slipped...o....out.
Th....these.....l... little...o....ones...a....are....s....so.....
a.....active."
Kelly said "Please relax Audrey darling we will get there."
Just after this Sylvie said"She needs to stay home for a few days Kelly. We need to make sure she is not stressing too much.
I know she is afraid of being terminated from her job if they find out she's pregnant with your
kids. I will grab the mobile ultrasound unit and we will check on the little ones. I'm sure I felt two heartbeats maybe three."
Before Sylvie returned with the ultrasound unit Kelly kissed her forehead and said"Audrey darling no wonder you are in so much pain twins or triplets are a lot for your body to deal with my love."
Audrey"You sent Ruzek and Halstead to get me
to prevent my co-workers from knowing you are my kids father. So it would not cause more
stress."
A minute later Sylvie entered the room with the ultrasound unit.
Sylvie"I'm sorry Audrey the gel will be cold."
Audrey winced as the cold gel touched the sensitive skin on her stomach.
As Sylvie skillfully moved the ultrasound wand over Audrey's stomach they all looked at the screen. Sylvie said"Looks like she is having triplets two boys and a girl."
Kelly and Audrey beamed at the news.
Audrey blushed"Oh Kel three is a lot as first time parents."
As Sylvie left Kelly noticed Audrey was blushing as he asked"Audrey darling what's wrong?"
Audrey blushed a deeper shade of red
and said"Kel we will make it.
Only four more months.
We should name them shouldn't we?"
Boy number one me is Jackson Devin Sevride.
Boy number two was named Luca Edwin Sevride.
The little girl's name was Alexandra Danica Sevride.
Four months later the triplets were born at home while Kelly was on shift but Sylvie and Cindy were there supporting Audrey.
Audrey's water broke at five fifteen in the morning and labor lasted until three thirty five pm.
Sylvie and Cindy worked quickly getting the little ones cleaned up then dressed.
Audrey felt pressure again needing to push the placenta out that took twenty minutes or so.
After everything was finished and cleaned up Sylvie stitched Audrey up.
Then they helped her dress while doing so a belch slipped out. Audrey blushed"Oh excuse me. Also I feel much better now. Can I hold one of my babies?"
Cindy handed her little Lexi who fussed a bit before steeling in.
Audrey chuckled softly "You are hungry aren't you sweet little Lexie?"
She handed the little girl to Sylvie for a minute to take off her shirt and bra. Then she placed little Lexie on her chest and the sweet girl obediently latched and suckled. About fifteen minutes passed while Lexie was being fed.
When she finished she belched loudly unbothered. The three women laughed warmly.
Audrey said"Oh she must have saved that up for her first feeding after she was born."
Little Lexie giggled constantly promptly falling asleep as Sylvie picked her up.
Cindy handed her both little Jackie and Luca.
As the boys finished with being fed Sylvie said
"I heard a car door. We all know who that is."
Kelly was disappointed he missed the whole birth. He walked in the room and Little Lexie reached for him in her sleep.
Kelly nodded picking her up.
Little Lexie giggled softly still asleep as if she knew she was in her dad's arms.
Audrey quickly but precisely burped both boys.
As they were done being burped both boys squirmed before having blowouts at exactly the same time.
Sylvie and Cindy changed the boys.
Then Sylvie said "Looks like you got two little partners in crime already."
Kelly's nose wrinkled as if he sensed little Lexie
was about to make a mess.
Lexie belched loudly, then squirmed a second before having a bowl movement.
Kelly whispered"Looks like Daddy's girl feels all better now."
He quickly changed her and rocked her back to sleep seeing her eye lids were heavy.
He sang his little girl a lullaby kissing her and placing his tiny adorable daughter in a bassinet.
He moved over and kissed Audrey saying
"Good job my love! I will get you some dinner
Since it seems you have not eaten yet."
As soon as he returned with Audrey's dinner and handed it to her.
She started to eat.as she ate she belched a few times blushing.
Audrey said "Excuse me. How rude of me.
I'm so sorry and embarrassed.
I feel better knowing that I ate none the less."
Kelly.temderly pressed on her stomach hoping
to provide her some relief.
Audrey blushed as gas expelled from both ends a few times.
Afterwards she again said "Excuse me!
How rude of me. I feel so gross after that.
I also feel a lot better now."
Suddenly she groaned in pain.and said
"Ouch I need to express some milk blockages
cna someone one.grab the breast pump now."
Sylvie handed her the breast pump.
As Audrey 's body expressed the blockages two
nearly inaudible tiny belches escaped her mouth.
Audrey blushed as she felt Kelly's finger rub her face he gently whispered"Audrey darling you must be in pain still."
Audrey nodded""Yes I'm still in pain.
I'm glad you are here Daddy"
