The day of the cricket match arrived, and Flynn decided to attend as himself as agreed. Isa also went, sitting in the bleachers near Carmen.
As the match progressed, Carmen got up and walked over to Isa. "Hey, you're Flynn's cousin, right?" Carmen asked, eyeing Isa curiously.
Isa nodded, smiling awkwardly, she really wanted to kiss her. "Yeah, that's me."
Carmen's eyes narrowed. "You two look really alike."
Isa laughed. "We actually get that a lot."
As they chatted, Isa found herself feeling more and more at ease around Carmen as herself like usual. They discovered a shared love of music and laughter, and before long, they were chatting like old friends.
After the match, Carmen grabbed Flynn's arm and pulled him into a kiss. Flynn was taken aback, but he kissed her back anyway.
Isa watched from the sidelines, feeling a pang of jealousy. Why did Carmen have to kiss Flynn?
As Carmen pulled away from Flynn, she smiled up at him. "Are you practicing our song?"
Flynn hesitated, looking unsure. "Yeah?"
Carmen nodded, "Good, I'll see you on our next practice. You were awesome today."
As they walked off the field, Carmen couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. The kiss she had shared with Flynn hadn't felt the same as the kiss they had shared before.
She pushed the thought aside, telling herself she was just being paranoid.
Meanwhile, Flynn and Isa got into a fight at home. "What's going on with you and Carmen?" Flynn demanded, her eyes blazing with anger.
Isa took a deep breath. "I'll tell you what's going on. I've been pretending to be you for months now, and I've developed feelings for Carmen. But then you go and kiss her, and it's just...it's not fair."
Flynn's expression softened and he became relaxed understanding his cousin. "Isa, I...I had no idea. I'm sorry."
Isa shook her head. "I don't think I can keep pretending to be you much longer."
Flynn nodded. "I know, cuz but we're almost there, I'll dump her and you step in as yourself, like a do over. You won her before, you can do it again." He said hugging his cousin.
