Months passed, and Isa continued to navigate her life as Flynn. She and Carmen grew closer, hanging out during lunch and between classes. Isa found herself looking forward to their conversations and feeling a pang of disappointment when Carmen wasn't around. Of course she did a good job making Flynn's friends believe it was him.
The midterm exams arrived, and Isa was determined to do well without arousing suspicion. She studied hard, making sure to get good grades without being too perfect. When the results were announced, Isa breathed a sigh of relief. She had done well, but not too well.
Isa's parents came to visit, congratulating "Flynn" on his progress. Isa played the part, smiling and thanking them for their support.
A week later, Carmen approached Isa after school. "Hey, Flynn, I was wondering if you'd like to come over to my place this weekend? We can study for our next exam together."
Isa's heart skipped a beat. She hadn't expected Carmen to invite her over. She quickly texted Flynn, asking for his advice.
Flynn responded with a warning: "Be careful, cuz. If you get caught, it's game over."
Isa hesitated, weighing the risks. But she couldn't deny the excitement she felt at the prospect of spending more time with Carmen.
"Okay, I'll come over," Isa said finally, trying to sound casual.
Carmen grinned, her eyes sparkling. "Awesome! I'll pick you up at 2 pm on Saturday."
Isa nods calmly trying to hide her excitement.
Saturday arrived, and Carmen picked Isa up at 2 pm sharp. They spent the afternoon studying together, but as the hours passed, they found themselves getting more and more distracted.
Their conversation wandered from school to music to movies, and before long, they were laughing and joking like old friends.
As the tension between them grew, Carmen leaned in, her eyes locked on Isa's. Isa felt her heart racing as Carmen's lips brushed against hers.
The kiss deepened, and Isa felt herself getting carried away. Isa pushed Carmen down forgetting all about her cover. But as Carmen's hands began to wander, Isa suddenly snapped back to reality.
She pulled away, her face flushing with embarrassment. "Carmen, wait," Isa said, her voice shaking slightly.
Carmen looked at her, confused. "What's wrong, did i do something?"
Isa took a deep breath. "I just... I don't want to do that to you. Not without thinking about the consequences."
Carmen's expression softened, and she smiled. "I like that about you, Flynn. You're so considerate."
Isa felt a pang of guilt, knowing that she was deceiving Carmen. But she pushed the feeling aside, focusing on the present moment.
They shared a meal together, laughing and talking like nothing had happened. As Isa prepared to leave, Carmen walked her to the door.
"Thanks for today, Flynn," Carmen said, smiling up at Isa. "I had a really great time."
Isa smiled back, feeling a flutter in her chest. "I had a great time too, Carmen." she said pecking Carmen on the cheek.
As Isa walked home, she couldn't shake the feeling that she was in over her head. She had developed feelings for Carmen, but she couldn't pursue them without revealing her true identity. She wanted to love Carmen but not as Flynn.
