Lucifer stood at the edge of the pool, stretching his arms with theatrical flair. "Alright, Ava. Prepare to witness greatness," he declared.

Ava, perched on the pool steps, clapped her hands excitedly. "What are you gonna do, Daddy?"

Lucifer smirked. "A backflip. Watch and learn."

From his spot under the umbrella, Alastor lowered his book and raised an eyebrow. "Do try not to crack your head open in front of our daughter, dear. It would be terribly inconvenient for me to explain to her how her other daddy ended up with a concussion."

Lucifer turned to shoot him a mock glare. "Your confidence in me is truly inspiring, love."

"Just speaking from experience," Alastor replied with a grin, returning to his book.

Lucifer stepped confidently onto the edge of the pool, turning his back to the water. He adjusted his stance, preparing for his grand display. But just as he raised his arms, something hard smacked him in the back of the head.

"Ow!" he yelped, stumbling slightly. He turned around, glaring at Alastor and Ava. "Alright, which one of you—"

He froze mid-sentence, his expression shifting from annoyance to surprise. Standing at the edge of the pool was Adam, casually holding a now-empty soda can.

Before Lucifer could get a word in, Ava let out an ear-splitting scream of delight. "Adam!" she cried, nearly slipping on the wet tile in her rush to get to him. She launched herself into his arms with enough force to make him stumble back a step.

Adam laughed, catching her easily and spinning her around. "Whoa there, Ava! I guess someone's missed me."

Lucifer crossed his arms, still rubbing the back of his head. "You know, a simple hello would've sufficed," he said dryly.

Adam gave him a sheepish grin. "Sorry about that. I didn't know dramatic pool stunts were on today's itinerary."

Ava clung to Adam, her excitement bubbling over. "Adam, we're swimming! You have to swim with us!"

Adam glanced over at the pool, then down at himself. "Didn't really bring swimwear, kiddo."

Lucifer waved a hand dismissively. "Not a problem. I can grab you some trunks—"

Adam interrupted, holding up a hand. "Nah, I've got basketball shorts on under this robe. They'll do just fine."

With that, he slipped off his robe, revealing a simple t-shirt and athletic shorts underneath. Tossing the robe onto a chair, he walked to the pool edge and leapt in with an impressive cannonball.

The resulting splash sent water flying everywhere, drenching Alastor's book and hat. Alastor sputtered, pulling off his now-soaked hat and shaking his head irritably.

"Fantastic," he grumbled, tilting his head to one side as water dribbled out of his ear. "As if I needed another reason to avoid this ridiculous activity."

Adam surfaced, running a hand through his wet hair. "Guess I should've warned you," he said with a grin.

Alastor shot him a withering look. "Oh, no. By all means, continue your aquatic antics. I'll just sit here, damp and miserable, like the picture of elegance I am."

Lucifer, watching from the side, laughed and shook his head. "Well, at least it's not boring anymore."

Adam floated lazily in the pool, water lapping at his shoulders as Ava perched on the pool steps, giggling uncontrollably. Her energy had been electric since Adam's arrival, and he couldn't help but share in her excitement.
