As I woke up the next morning, I found myself in an unknown bed...
The room looked luxurious...it took me time to process that it was a hotel room...

"Huh-?"

I sat up, groggy, messed up, and confused... in the luxurious bed, my eyes adjusting to the daylight peeking through the curtains.

The room was tastefully furnished, its soft, pastel color scheme making it feel both soothing and inviting. I tried to gather my bearings, but memories of the previous night were fuzzy and scattered.

"How did I get here...?" I thought as I looked around. The room didn't look familiar, and the soft sheets still smelled of luxurious linens.

I swung my legs over the edge of the bed, the soft carpet cushioning my bare feet. The silence of the room was only broken by the soft hum of air conditioning.

As I stood up, the details of the room became clearer. Large windows let in shafts of sunlight, casting geometric patterns on the floor. The bed was king-sized, and there were multiple pillows and comforters spread out elegantly.

I quickly checked my phone for the time and the day. It was already noon. I had slept through most of the morning, and my head was still fogged with the remnants of the night.

I sat back on the bed, contemplating my next move. I couldn't remember much beyond the hazy details of the previous night, but one thing was certain - I needed to check out of this room. I glanced at the small pile of belongings I had with me, mainly a bag and a jacket.

I quickly freshened up in the bathroom, splashed cold water on my face, and brushed my teeth.

The mirror revealed a tired and unkempt version of me, hair sticking out at odd angles and eyes a bit bleary.

Once I was feeling more presentable, I stepped out of the bathroom and made my way towards the desk.

The hotel was quiet, most likely due to the late hour. As I stepped into the lobby, I spotted the front desk where a young lady was waiting. I approached her with a polite smile.

"Good evening," I greeted, my voice betraying my grogginess. "I'd like to check out, please."

She gave me a friendly smile in return, looking down at her computer screen.
"Of course," she said. "May I see your key card?"
