The whack of a pillow is what shakes Draco out of his sleep.
He groans, shielding his face with his arm while holding the other out incase Devyn decides to make another attack. "I thought we weren't doing that anymore, Devil."
"Explain."
He knows that irritable tone.
"Again?" He sighs, nestling deeper into the pillows. "I already told you, whatever I do in your dreams is nothing I can account for because I didn't do it. I would never cheat on you."
"Not that," she replies curtly. "What happened to our beds?"
Oh, that. "There's this thing called magic."
"Why are they together?"
"Because I felt like it." Draco turns his head, taking his first look at his girlfriend. She's sitting on her knees, pillow in her lap. In her arsenal. Her hair is beautifully mussed up, reason for it the many times she turned in her sleep. He may have gotten a hand or two in the face, but she looks at him like he pissed her off. "How are you feeling?"
She didn't drink much, though considering her low tolerance, she could feel about as dirty as Blaise after a bender.
"Could be better. Could be worse," she replies dully.
"That's because I made you drink a glass of water." Smirking, he hooks an arm behind his head and shifts his hips into a more accessible position. "You can thank me however way you like."
This time, he is prepared for the pillow attack, but lets it happen anyway. She's weak this morning.
"Too early for you cockiness," she huffs. "How did I end up here? The last thing I remember is sitting with you by the lake."
"You fell asleep, finally." He reaches out, brushing an unruly strand of hair from her face and securing it behind her ear. Now is the time and place for it, like she schooled him on. "And I carried you."
"In your arms?"
"How else, Ravenclaw."
"Well, there's this thing called magic," she mimics.
To make her levitate, is what she means.
"You don't think I have the endurance?"
"I think that's a lot of steps and I'm no lightweight."
"You're right," he says, heavy on the irony. "All that sass and attitude you have is hefty on you."
Devyn stares at him for a long time, that line between her brows ever so persistent. Draco mentally braces himself, fearing that what he meant came out wrong. But then she looks down at the bed, over at the headboard where he knows the teddy bear sits, over her shoulder around the room. "You really transfigured our beds."
He would have done so that night they finally comitted, but he knew that would have been too much at once. While they have been long in the works and are as comfortable as a couple could get, he is aware that things still can and should be taken slow. There is no rush, no pause and no ending.
"I did. We're past sharing a single one, don't you think?"
"We have so much more room," she confirms by saying, wondrously.
And oh, he knows. No more squeezing together and twisting all weird. They have all the room in the world to spread out, something he is planning on doing to Devynlater, for as long as she is up for it.
Draco links his finger into the bracelet she wears, the one he gifted her for christmas. "I have something for you. A little Easter egg hunt but the egg is a bewejeled box."
