Christmas

Ah, Christmas time is here,
A season of joy, a time to cheer.
But to some, it's just a time to grab
Material things that bring no lasting slab.

Some see it as a time to receive,
To stuff their stocking and their shelves with ease.
But not me, for I see it as a time
To cherish moments with loved ones, like a rhyme.

The trees are dressed in lights and cheer,
The children sing songs of joy and cheer,
But in the madness of the season's thrall,
We must remember the true meaning of it all.

It's not the gifts we give or the ones we get,
But the love we share and the memories we make yet,
So let us not forget, in this festive fray,
The true spirit of Christmas, each and every day.
