The morning light filtered through the blinds, casting a pale glow over the room. Y/n rubbed her eyes, exhaustion clinging to her after a restless night. The conversation with Hana lingered in her mind, the mysterious woman's warning sending a chill down her spine.
What could be so dangerous about uncovering the truth? And why had Hana come in the dead of night?
She glanced at Taehyung, still asleep beside her. His face was peaceful in sleep, but the tightness in his jaw and the worry that hadn't left his eyes for days spoke volumes. Y/n sighed and quietly got out of bed, careful not to disturb him.
In the kitchen, Kylie was already up, her hair in a messy bun, eyes scanning through her phone. When she saw Y/n, she raised an eyebrow.
"Good morning," Y/n said softly, trying to shake off the weight of last night.
"Morning," Kylie replied, not looking up from her screen. "You didn't get much sleep, did you?"
Y/n didn't answer right away, instead going over to the coffee machine and starting a fresh pot. She needed to think, to sort through her emotions before speaking.
"Is Taehyung okay?" Kylie asked, her tone softer now.
Y/n nodded, pouring herself a cup of coffee. "He's been better. I think he's still processing everything." She paused, her fingers tightening around the mug.
"But last night... I don't know what to make of that woman. Hana."
Kylie leaned back, tilting her head. "I don't like the sound of it. Who shows up like that, at 3 a.m., talking about secrets and danger? Something doesn't add up."
"Exactly," Y/n agreed. "But she could be our only lead."
Kylie frowned, clearly uneasy. "Are you really going to meet her? We don't know who she is, and she could be trouble."
"I don't have much of a choice," Y/n said, her voice firm. "If she knows something, we need to hear it."
Just then, Taehyung entered the kitchen, rubbing his eyes as he stretched. The exhaustion on his face hadn't changed. He looked at Y/n, his gaze heavy with worry.
"Are you really going to meet her?" he asked quietly, voice hoarse from sleep.
Y/n met his gaze, a flicker of doubt crossing her mind, but she shook her head. "I don't have a choice. I'm not going to let this go, Taehyung. I need to know what's really going on."
He was silent for a moment, then nodded, though his eyes betrayed the fear he couldn't mask. "Just... be careful. I can't lose anyone else."
Y/n's heart tightened at his words. She stepped forward, placing her hand gently on his arm. "We'll get through this, okay? We'll figure this out together."
Taehyung didn't say anything more, but there was a slight easing of the tension in his shoulders. He pulled away to grab a cup of coffee, his eyes distant.
Y/n finished her coffee, her mind swirling. Every moment spent in this house now felt like walking on a tightrope-one wrong move, and everything could come crashing down.
As they finished breakfast, Y/n checked her phone for any updates. There was a text from Hana, the details for the meeting, an address, and a time: 10 AM, a few blocks away at a small coffee shop.
She didn't know what to expect, but it was clear that this meeting would determine their next steps.
"We should get ready," Y/n said, breaking the silence. "We're meeting her soon."
Kylie nodded. "I'll go get dressed. Just... be careful, okay? I'm not sure about this woman, but if she's legit, she might have the answers we need. If she's playing us, we need to back off."
