QOD "Love sought is good, but love found is better." – William Shakespeare
I pulled out my phone, pretending to be distracted, all the while trying to mask the fact that I was completely hypnotized.
How can a man like this be a ten over ten with absolutely no flaws?
I hope he asks for my number before I lose my mind!
In about 30 minutes, our flight to Abuja was over.
As the robotic voice echoed, announcing our arrival at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, I was still scrolling through the sky pictures I had taken.I waited for the crowd to clear before grabbing my box, preferring the extra space.
I wanted to steal one last glance at him, silently praying he wouldn't catch me staring. In one swift move, I turned-and lo and behold, his eyes locked directly onto mine.
I almost screamed! But I quickly swallowed the urge, smiled instead, and hoped I looked calm.
He waved at me, his smile wide and disarming. I waved back, my cheeks burning with embarrassment and excitement.
The joy he ignited in me was overwhelming. I sank back into my seat, trying to hide the blush that was no doubt betraying my every feeling.
Minutes passed as passengers filed out.
Finally, I stood up to drag my box out, but just as I reached for it, my hand brushed against his-silky, soft, and surprisingly warm hand.
He smiled and said, "Let me do that for you."
Before I could respond, he grabbed my box and effortlessly rolled it down to the arrival hall."Thank you," I whispered with a small, shy smile.
He nodded, returning my smile. Of course, he's such a gentleman!"So, you on Snapchat?" he asked, hitting me with the classic question.
"Well, let's just say I'm there for the filters and the memories," I replied, keeping it casual.
"For real?"
"Yeah, for real. It's kinda private, you know."
" I don't fancy flirting and hiding," I added.
"I keep things open. I've got nothing to hide and nothing to lose."
"You're so cool," he said, biting his lips slightly.
"I know," I replied with a smirk.
He smiled softly, and for a moment, the world seemed to pause around us.
"I don't actually Snapchat either," he said with a playful smirk. " just noticed you pretty ladies are always on it. Anyway, type your digits here." He handed me his Samsung Galaxy A.
Without hesitation, I quickly keyed in my number and handed the phone back.
He dialed it immediately, likely to confirm, then slipped the phone into his trouser pocket.
"Is anybody picking you up?" he asked.
"Yes, my dad is."
"Ah, Daddy's girl," he teased, raising an eyebrow. "Aren't you too old for that?"
"Oh, come on. We never get old in our parents' eyes," I replied with a grin.
"True," he admitted. "But let me get going, Daddy's girl, before the old man strangles me for talking to his precious daughter."
"Nah, he won't. He's a sweet man-you'd like him," I assured him.
"I'm not taking chances," he said with a mischievous smile, waving goodbye.
I inhaled slowly, savoring the faint trace of his cologne as it lingered in the air, disappearing little by little until he was completely out of sight.
On the ride home with my dad, I was a bundle of nerves, my mind racing. Would he call me as soon as he got home? Or would I have to wait and wonder?
It's been what ? Decades guys!
I have no valid explanation, forgive me!🥹
