QOD ""Embrace the beauty of the unknown, and give love a chance to weave its enchanting story into the fabric of your life." _ Amit Ray

My phone vibrated and distracted my little site seeing, it was a text from Afeeyah, "hop into the conversation, Bilal is an introvert, don't worry about him."

I quickly typed back "I'm not worried about anyone, I'm just not a people person. "

"So Afeeyah, how was life back in the US?" Aseem asked.

"It was good, a very simple life, no competition, everyone was just on their own."

"I replied. I bet so." He said

"So you've been to the US." Bilal surprisingly asked, who could have thought.

"Yes, Harvard." I stated..

"I was there too before I ran back home."

"I see." I replied not knowing what to say.

"I'm not really a people person but I couldn't live without family." He blurted again.

"Fairuzah do you know this idiot was in final year, when he ran back home, he was almost done with his program."

"Was that laziness? " I asked rather confused.

"Hahahaha Aseem and Afeeyah laughed so hard." Before the spoke at once.

" we said so too." Who stops running when they are almost at the finish line." Afeeyah added.

"well someone who does that is seated here."Bilal spoke, and he continued "You know what it means to be treated as royalty everywhere you go, I hated it."

Show off, I already knew he was a prince before he even introduced himself, just like he didn't wanted to be treated as one out there, I don't even care about it, royalty is not even my thing, even though Dad made me feel like one.

I only smiled because what will one say in situations like that, if he was a prince I was my Fathers daughter.

We got to the ice cream gelato, I alighted and quickly wrapped my veil around my shoulders, I wasn't trying to show off skin or something.

I like my ice cream in multiple flavors and colors, so I scoop six different flavors into the beautiful pink jar.

That ice cream was to die for, we quickly went back to the car as Aseem drove us around town showing us the ancient city of katsina and telling us little of the history behind those places, it was interesting.

Bilal on the other hand was only staring at me and darting off his eyes from time to time, I began to pretend I wasn't seeing him, if I had looked back at the same time it will mean I was interested in him.

But somehow I was looking at him in utter disgust, the way he chews ice cream was not a story to take home, I can't not have a man like this, wether it was a matchmaking or not, I lost interest the moment that ice cream started melting out of his mouth and even stained his shirt.

Who does that ? Was he a nine year old? More reasons to hate this men, after carrying that masculine face and body, they still expect a woman to take care of them, they are men for God's sake, the very ones whom starts developing muscles in their mother's stomach, I'm sure he kicked her really hard back then, but here he lacks self control, what an irony.

I looked away and enjoyed every scoop of my ice cream and never looked his side again, to avoid anything that would stop me from enjoying my ice cream.

"Fairuzah can I get your number please." The man in my thoughts spoke, almost like a whisper.

I pretended not to hear, he should open his mouth.

"Fairu didn't you hear him?" Afeeyah chimed in.

"Hear who ? What ? Aseem what did you say again." I answered back.

"It wasn't Aseem, it was Bilal."

"Oh I didn't hear him. He should be audible next time." I said still feasting on my ice cream.

"Fairu be nice for once."

"And who says I'm not?"  I fired back.

"Please leave her alone, she's been nice since we met her." Aseem said, to perhaps make us stop arguing.

"Please tell her Aseem." I retorted.

"And you what did you say?" I asked Bilal Frantically.

He gave a small smile and passed me his iPhone 13 and muttered a small "please."

"Please what? You can't talk now ?"

"Your number."

"Oh okay, you would have just said that."

Afeeyah eyed me through the rare view mirror, but I only acted as if not to see her.

I typed the number in and I was so glad we were home the exact minute so I won't have to start or continue any conversation with any of them.

As I stepped one foot on the ground my phone vibrated again.

it was a text from an unknown number, "I like you Fairuzah. Bilal. ❤️

Okay..... where is this taking us to ?
