Carrie thought hard about the negotiation. Fat chance she would agree, but it was well worth a try. She was Marilyn Phoenix, one of the most important people in London. It was hard luck, and Carrie didn't want to waste her deal on Marilyn's outright decline. The stakes were high, but she could lose a lot from this deal. Marilyn might've declined their offer, and her group would've lost over ten million, including the Phoenix's Feather. She still decided to take her chances anyways.
'Marilyn. Your deal was tempting, but I have another offer,' She said to her on the phone.
'How can there be a better deal?' She asked.
'Ten million tops, and we'll catch the thief along with your crystal.'
'Pricey. You're gambling with a high risk here. Fine, I'll give you ten million and a hundred grand, for that dog of yours. If you fail, no money and jailtime for all of you. If I find out one of you did it, you're all going to be tossed into a jail cell, and I'm definitely not giving you any money.' She said the exact same thing twice, but for different causes. 'The dog of yours' was Marilyn's way of talking about Relyn, Xavier's golden retriever who stayed in her kennel most of the time. Relyn wouldn't follow them anywhere, and she would occasionally get fed, so she was scrawny and weak.'Deal, what's the due date?'
'By Auction Day.'
'You got it.'
Carrie had to think of a plan, quickly. She wasn't expecting such a short time to complete the task. She had to track down the mysterious thief, whether or not she'd lose her grand title—'Lady Slick'. She'd still be slick, though it wouldn't be for such a treacherous cause. She started with an unexpected trip to Marilyn's mansion, in disguise—of course—otherwise the guards she had fooled would recognise that devious smile.
Carrie smoothly escaped from her bunker that she shared with her gang. She'd put the call on speaker, so they knew exactly what went on. She grabbed a believable disguise, a fast-food worker. She tied her luscious silver blonde hair into a ponytail. Silver blonde was a common hair dye here, as she got from observation. Carrie took an empty pizza box out of the mini fridge, and disappeared into the moonlight once again, in her indecipherable and vague disguise. She had to climb up the highest buildings and take gambles to jump onto each one.
Her friends, on the other hand, strolled freely through the city and stole a foreign Ferrari. The owner of the car got splashed with a puddle of water as they sped off. Marilyn's house was too far to walk, even with all this time on their hands.
