The morning after the wedding felt surreal to Jungkook. He wandered through the mansion, unsure of where he was supposed to go or what he was supposed to do. The staff greeted him politely but kept their distance, leaving him to navigate the unfamiliar space alone.

He finally found Taehyung in his study, seated behind a massive mahogany desk. The man barely acknowledged him, focused on the papers in front of him.

"You're awake," Taehyung said without looking up.

"Yes," Jungkook replied, standing awkwardly near the door.

Taehyung set his pen down and leaned back in his chair, fixing Jungkook with a piercing gaze. "We need to establish some rules."

Jungkook's stomach tightened. "Rules?"

"Yes," Taehyung said, his tone clipped. "You're my spouse now, and while I don't expect you to love me-or for me to love you-there are appearances to maintain. That means you'll fulfill your duties as my husband."

Jungkook frowned. "What does that mean, exactly?"

Taehyung stood, walking around the desk until he was standing in front of Jungkook. His towering presence made Jungkook feel small, but he refused to shrink under the scrutiny.

"It means you'll manage the household. Oversee the staff, ensure everything runs smoothly, and attend public events with me when required." Taehyung's voice was calm, but there was a sharpness to it. "And, of course, in private... you'll fulfill your duties as my spouse."

The implication was clear, and Jungkook's face heated. "I don't know how to do any of that," he admitted quietly.

Taehyung raised an eyebrow. "You'll learn. Consider it part of the arrangement."

Jungkook's First Day as a Housewife

After the conversation, Taehyung had the butler escort Jungkook to the staff office, where he was handed a schedule and a list of tasks.

Jungkook stared at the neatly typed list, feeling overwhelmed. He had never managed a household, let alone one with a staff of twenty people.

"I can't do this," he muttered to himself, but he forced himself to try.

He spent the day shadowing the head housekeeper, learning how meals were planned, how the staff rotated their duties, and even how to approve deliveries. By evening, his legs ached, and his head spun with information.

When he returned to the bedroom, he found Taehyung already there, loosening his tie.

"How was your first day?" Taehyung asked, his tone casual but his eyes sharp.

"Exhausting," Jungkook admitted honestly. "I don't know how you expect me to handle all of this."

"You'll adapt," Taehyung said, shrugging off his jacket. "You're stronger than you think."

The unexpected compliment caught Jungkook off guard, but before he could respond, Taehyung continued.

"And don't forget, tomorrow evening we have an event. You'll need to look the part."

"An event?"

Taehyung nodded. "A charity gala. My mother will be there, and she'll expect us to act like a real couple."

Jungkook's stomach sank. The idea of pretending to be a loving spouse in front of a crowd was daunting, but he nodded. "I'll do my best."

"Good," Taehyung said, his voice softening slightly. "That's all I ask."As Taehyung disappeared into the bathroom, Jungkook sat on the edge of the bed, staring at his hands. This wasn't the life he had imagined for himself, but he was determined to make it work-even if Taehyung's coldness cut him to the core.

Little did he know, the walls Taehyung had built around his heart would begin to crack sooner than either of them expected.
