It had been weeks since Taejun’s birth, and the house had settled into a new rhythm. The cries of the newborn, the soft hum of lullabies, and the quiet conversations between Jungkook and Taehyung filled the halls.
One morning, as Jungkook was feeding Taejun, his phone buzzed on the counter. He reached for it, seeing a familiar name.
“Jimin?” Jungkook answered, his voice soft to avoid startling the baby.
“Jungkook! I heard you had the baby. When can we visit?”
Jungkook hesitated. It had been months since he’d seen his family or friends. But hearing Jimin’s excited tone made him smile.
“Come by this weekend,” Jungkook said.

The Visit:
When Saturday arrived, the house buzzed with activity. Jungkook ensured everything was perfect, from the tea set on the table to Taejun’s little outfit.
When the doorbell rang, Jungkook’s heart raced. Taehyung, ever composed, opened the door to greet their guests.
Jimin, along with Jungkook’s older brother and mother, stepped inside, their eyes immediately scanning the lavish mansion.
“Wow,” Jimin whispered, nudging Jungkook. “You’ve hit the jackpot.”
Jungkook laughed nervously.

Meeting Taejun:
When Jungkook’s mother saw Taejun, her eyes filled with tears. “He’s beautiful,” she whispered, gently cradling the baby in her arms.
Jimin crouched beside her, grinning. “Look at those tiny hands! He’s a heartbreaker already.”
Taehyung stood a few feet away, watching the interaction with a guarded expression. Jungkook noticed and walked over, placing a hand on Taehyung’s arm.
“They’re just excited,” Jungkook said softly.
Taehyung nodded but didn’t reply.
---
A Tense Conversation:
As the visit continued, Jungkook’s brother pulled him aside.
“Are you happy here?” he asked, his tone serious.
Jungkook blinked, caught off guard. “Of course. Why would you ask that?”
His brother glanced toward Taehyung. “He seems… distant. I just want to make sure you’re not being forced into anything.”
Jungkook sighed. “It’s complicated, but we’re working on it. And he’s a good father. That’s what matters.”
His brother didn’t look convinced but nodded.

Taehyung’s Effort:
Later, as everyone gathered in the living room, Taehyung surprised Jungkook by joining the conversation.
“So, Jimin,” Taehyung began, his voice polite but firm, “what do you do for work?”
Jimin, slightly taken aback, grinned. “I’m a photographer. Weddings, portraits, you name it.”
Taehyung nodded. “Interesting. Perhaps you could take some family photos for us.”
Jungkook’s heart swelled at the gesture. It wasn’t much, but it was Taehyung’s way of trying to connect.
As the visit came to an end, Jungkook’s family left with warm smiles and promises to return soon.
“You didn’t have to do that,” Jungkook said later, as he and Taehyung sat on the couch.
Taehyung shrugged. “They’re your family. That makes them important.”
Jungkook smiled, leaning his head on Taehyung’s shoulder. For the first time, he felt a flicker of hope that they could truly build a life together.
