The days leading up to the baby’s arrival were filled with anticipation and quiet moments of preparation. Jungkook and Taehyung had found an unexpected rhythm in their lives, but that fragile peace was soon disrupted.
One evening, Taehyung returned home from work, his face tense. Jungkook noticed immediately and set down the book he had been reading.
“What happened?” Jungkook asked, watching Taehyung pace the room.
“My father,” Taehyung said through gritted teeth. “He’s demanding a meeting.”
Jungkook’s heart sank. Taehyung rarely spoke of his father, a controlling man who had disapproved of their marriage from the start.
“Why now?” Jungkook asked, worry lacing his voice.
“He says he wants to discuss the baby,” Taehyung replied, his tone cold.

The Meeting
Two days later, Taehyung’s father arrived at their estate. The older man’s presence was as imposing as ever, his sharp eyes scanning the room as if judging every detail.
“Jungkook,” he said curtly, acknowledging him with a barely perceptible nod.
Jungkook bowed politely, feeling the weight of the man’s disapproval.
As they sat in the living room, Taehyung’s father wasted no time. “You’ve put the family name at risk by marrying him,” he said, his voice harsh. “And now, you’re bringing a child into this mess?”
Taehyung’s jaw tightened, his hands curling into fists. “This is my family,” he said firmly. “And you have no say in how I choose to live my life.”
Jungkook, feeling overwhelmed, tried to stay silent, but the words stung.
“Mr. Kim,” Jungkook said quietly, drawing the older man’s attention. “I may not come from a wealthy family, but I love Taehyung, and I’ll do everything I can to give our child a good life.”
Taehyung’s father raised an eyebrow, clearly unimpressed. “Love won’t protect my grandson from the scrutiny of the world.”
Taehyung stood abruptly, his voice sharp. “Enough. You’re not welcome here if you can’t respect Jungkook.”
The room fell silent. Jungkook looked at Taehyung, his heart pounding at the rare show of support.

Aftermath
Once his father left, Taehyung found Jungkook sitting in the nursery, tears streaming down his face.
“I’m sorry,” Jungkook whispered. “I didn’t mean to cause trouble.”
Taehyung knelt beside him, placing a hand on his shoulder. “You didn’t. My father’s opinion doesn’t matter. What matters is you, me, and our baby.”
Jungkook looked at Taehyung, his tears slowing. “Thank you… for standing up for me.”
Taehyung nodded, his expression softening. “I should have done it sooner.”
The encounter with Taehyung’s father brought back painful memories for both of them, but it also solidified their bond. For the first time, Jungkook felt truly protected, and Taehyung realized just how much his family meant to him.
As they prepared for their son’s arrival, they both knew that the challenges ahead would only make them stronger.
