The evening sun cast a warm glow over the park as Sky and Nani strolled along the cobblestone paths. Sky had been excited all day, teasingly reminding Nani about their date. It wasn’t their first outing together, but this one felt different—more intentional, more romantic.
Sky carried a small basket filled with snacks, while Nani walked beside him, pretending to be indifferent but secretly enjoying the anticipation.
“Why a park?” Nani asked, his tone casual as they found a spot near the pond.
Sky grinned. “Because it’s simple, peaceful, and perfect for spending time with someone special.”
Nani’s cheeks flushed lightly, and he quickly looked away. Sky chuckled to himself, setting up a small picnic blanket under the shade of a tree.
Throughout the evening, Sky poured all his energy into making Nani feel cherished. He handed Nani a daisy he’d picked from the grass. “For you,” he said dramatically, bowing like a knight presenting a prized treasure.
“Stop being ridiculous,” Nani said, trying to hide his smile.
“You love it,” Sky teased, plopping down beside him. “Admit it.”
As they ate snacks and watched kids flying kites, Sky kept sneaking glances at Nani, basking in how relaxed and happy he looked. Every so often, Sky would crack a silly joke or make a playful comment, just to see Nani’s lips twitch into a smile.
At one point, a young woman jogged past them, stopping briefly to catch her breath. She glanced at Sky, her eyes widening.
“You’re really handsome,” she blurted out, clearly flustered. “And so well-built!”
Sky laughed awkwardly, scratching the back of his neck. “Uh, thanks?”
The woman jogged away, leaving Nani sitting stiffly beside him.
“Handsome and well-built, huh?” Nani muttered, crossing his arms.
Sky turned to him, a playful grin spreading across his face. “Wait a second—are you jealous?”
“Of course not,” Nani huffed, his cheeks turning an unmistakable shade of pink.
“You totally are!” Sky teased, scooting closer. “Look at you, pouting like a little kid. It’s adorable.”
“I am *not* pouting,” Nani retorted, glaring at him.
Sky leaned in, brushing his nose against Nani’s. “Well, for the record, I only care about what *you* think of me.”
Nani’s blush deepened, and he looked away, mumbling, “Stop trying so hard to make me fall for you.”
Sky’s heart skipped a beat. He tilted his head, pretending to be hurt. “Trying hard? You mean I’m not irresistible already?”
Nani turned back to him, his eyes softening. “You don’t need to try,” he admitted quietly. “I’m already in love with you.”
Sky froze, his chest swelling with emotion. “Nani…”
Before he could say more, Nani leaned in and pressed a soft kiss to his cheek. Sky blinked, stunned, before a wide grin broke across his face.
“Well, well,” Sky teased, wrapping an arm around Nani’s shoulders. “Looks like someone’s fallen for my charm.”
“Don’t ruin the moment,” Nani grumbled, though he couldn’t hide his smile.
The rest of their date was filled with sweet, playful moments. They shared soft kisses under the fading light, walked hand in hand through the park, and laughed about the silliest things.
As they left the park, Sky squeezed Nani’s hand. “Best date ever,” he declared.
Nani rolled his eyes but didn’t let go. “You’re such a dork.”
“And you’re stuck with me,” Sky shot back, his smile brighter than the stars beginning to appear in the sky.
Nani didn’t reply, but his heart swelled as he silently agreed—he wouldn’t have it any other way.
