Vince’s POV
Due to the Albanians' arrival in LA, I have been receiving calls non-stop all morning.
Fernando mentioned they have been here for over a week, and it is worrisome to know no one knew until today.
The Albanians are known for trafficking girls and women. Reason why we want to eliminate every single one of them.
One time, Fernando almost lost Isabel to them. More reason why he is enthusiastic about killing them all.
I watch my men move around until everything is set. They loaded all the weapons we would need from the warehouse before heading off to the gambling house, where they currently are.
They have guts choosing to stay in that gambling house.
The more I think about it, the more I want to believe this is a trap.
They know we can easily find them. Perhaps they have no idea; we know they are in LA already.
My phone rings, and I glance at the screen to see Ann’s name flashing across. I pick up without hesitation.
“Vince?” She calls, her breath heavy, making me raise a brow.
“Are you okay?” I demand quickly, unable to hide the worry laced in my tone.
“Yes. I…I just need to go out. I need to get a few things at the closest mall…I…I have…”
“Are you sure you are okay?” I cut her short, but she doesn't respond. “Order one of the maids to get whatever you want. I will get back to you on Tessa when I get home.”
“No!” She mutters sharply. “I need a bit of air. I haven't been out in a while.”
“Ok? Tell Donald to drive you to wherever you want to go. Landon and Izzy will follow behind. Get home as soon as you can, and please call or text when you are home.”
Silence follows.
“Are you there?”
“Yes.”
“Good.” I mumble in satisfaction before disconnecting the call.
I am sure she is not pleased with having guards follow her to wherever she is headed to, but that is better than ordering her to stay put and not go out.
Ann doesn’t look like someone who would stay put when ordered to.
My phone rings again, and I pick it up immediately; I see it is Lucas.
“Lucas.”
“There is a bidding going on at the club, boss.”
“Bidding?” I raise a brow in confusion.
“Yes, girls.”
“Shit, we are almost there,” I reply quickly and disconnect the call. To the driver, I thunder. “Faster.”
My first encounter with the Albanians was at a strip club in Italy. They auction off ladies to Asian countries, including underage girls.
I hate men who hurt women, so I got involved full-time. We eliminated almost all the ring members involved in the trafficking and it stopped. Now they are at it again.
While I sit and stamp my feet impatiently, the speed of the car increases.
Five minutes later, we arrive at the club, where music is blasting from inside. It looks like a normal club, but there are a lot of activities going on inside.
To avoid alerting them, I signal to Alesso to get the guys in through the backdoor. I sit still for a minute before calling Lucas.
“Are you in position?”
“Yes, boss.”
“I'm coming in now. This time, don't spare him.”
I step out and walk in through the front door with my hands in my pants pocket. There is a small party going on, making it look like there isn't an illegal deal going on upstairs.
It's either upstairs, or there is an underground room somewhere. I didn't ask Lucas that.
I see a staircase, and I walk over to it, which leads me to a different area of the club.
Quickly, I grab my earpiece and put a call through to Lucas.
“Where is he?”
“The high table close to the counter,” he replies quickly. I slowly turn around to see him smoking a cigar with his gaze fixed on the girls stripping on stage.
There are other men seated around, and I assume they are the bidders. Some of which must be his men.
I blend in and take a seat with legs crossed. Just before I can give instructions for Lucas to get to action, I catch sight of a familiar figure.
Black straight hair. Almond brown eyes.
Tessa.
What the hell?!
I shoot to my feet instantly and bark out the order. “Lucas.”
A shot rings out, and my men troop in. I grab my gun and point it at a guard hovering over Tessa and three other girls.
I can see the fear in their eyes.
Tessa doesn't know me. But I do know her. Ann sent a picture of her to me even before I asked her.
Without hesitation, I pull the trigger and he falls over with a thud. I step closer and grab Tessa. “Ann sent me to you. Annette Vasquez.”
Surprise flits across her expression, replacing the fear in her eyes.
More shots ring out, leaving some of the men dead and others fleeing for their lives. Armani sits still without moving, a smirk plastered on his face.
“Long time no see, Vincete. I thought you would never show up.”
"I always do," I declare from the stage, just before firing a shot into his legs.
He cries out, as Alesso grabs him from behind. He struggles with them until they have his hands handcuffed and I watch them drag him away.I don't intend to spare him but I don't want to kill him off in the presence of these innocent girls. Especially not in front of Tessa.
My men will do the job.
Fernando rushes in, and he orders some of his men to get the girls on stage, while the others will go rescue the others if there are any.
The rest of the bidders have vanished into thin air, but I am glad we got all of his men. This might mean an end to girls trafficking, unless Armani has other ring members to keep the business going.
“Are you sure it's Ann?” Tessa’s soft voice makes me face her squarely.
I nod.
She trembles, her eyes fixating on the gun in my hand. “Are you Vince?”
I nod again as the reality of what has just happened dawns on me. At this point, I can no longer hide from Ann.Even though I didn't kill Armani in front of her, I killed the guard behind her.
Firmly, I reply. “Yes.”
