The sun beamed lazily through the windows of Class 8A as the morning hum of chatter filled the room. Suddenly, the door creaked open, and Bhavani, the class topper, stepped in, her sharp gaze sweeping over the crowd.

"Give me a side, you elephant," she said with a smirk, her tone dripping with mockery.

Ashen, slouched near the door, raised an eyebrow and shot back, "You're the elephant, not me."

Bhavani crossed her arms, tilting her head with an amused expression. "And from what angle do you see me as an elephant?"

Ashen smirked, "From the brain, you fool. Maybe hear the whole sentence before flinging insults."

The classroom erupted into laughter, the kind that echoed against the walls like a wave of chaos. Bhavani's eyes narrowed as she turned to the laughing crowd.

"Go ahead, laugh all you want, but don't forget-tomorrow's the exam. Let's see who'll be laughing then," she taunted, brushing past Ashen and making her way to her usual spot on the front bench, her posture screaming confidence.

From the back, Kai stormed up to Ashen, delivering a sharp slap to his shoulder. "Hey, genius! It was your job to remind me about the exam date!"

Ashen shrugged nonchalantly. "Brother, I was busy. Besides, you could've checked yourself, right? Also, who even studies before an exam these days?"

Before Kai could reply, Mike leaned in, his grin mischievous. "Guys, Renji's free tonight. He suggested we do a group study session."

Kai and Ashen exchanged a glance and burst out laughing. "Bro," Kai began, "studying is hopeless. Look at our tuition teacher. The guy's a genius and still jobless. If he couldn't make it, what chance do we have?"

Mike rolled his eyes and pulled out his phone to text Renji. But before he could hit send, Ellie approached Renji with her notebook in hand.

"Renji, my math is a disaster," she admitted, her voice a mix of desperation and charm. "I heard you're planning a group study. Mind if I join? I really need the help."
