SCARLETS POV

After I got changed into my usual wear which is my army uniform just a spare par I had. I grabbed his arm and I'm running before he can even say anything and I can hear his shakily breaths just above my footsteps and his a little behind mine, I know where I'm taking him the other soldiers are staring at me.

"Scarlet- Deputy! You're meant to be getting bed rest-"

A soldier spoke, and I cut him off with a smirk.

"I am alright, don't worry, just don't tell Luke"

I wink at him then I run away Anderson yelling a quick apology the guy looks like he hasn't ever gotten in trouble before in his life, goodie-to-shoes if I ever saw one and my smirk turns to him.

"What's wrong, medic boy? Never broken a rule before?"

His red face tells me my answer, and he speaks up, but it's hard to hear.

"Ja, never, always a rule follower-"

"So, goodie-to-shoes?"

The little glare I get after that comment makes me chuckle lightly as we keep sprinting a question leaves his lips.

"Why are you taking me of all people!"

His panicked shout makes my chuckle become louder.

"Simple, I need a distraction"

"Why?"

The question now feels stupid out loud, to him at least by his face and he quickly speaks to cover it up.

"The whole....Alexander thing"

"Well no shit"

I shoot back as we've made it to the place I was taking him, outside the base, the dark night sky, freedom, the stars standing out to my eyes, I wonder if my mother is one of those stars above watching me, what would she think? I take my thoughts away from that even for a second and give Daniel a small smile.

"Look I know your new here"

I say staying in place my tone turning somber.

"And I need I away to get, well, away from all this, want a real look about"

His smile goes wide and it makes something in my chest spark, fast heart, my breaths becoming quicker.

What is going on with me?
