THREE DAYS AGO
I stare at my Scarlet coloured blade, the silver covered by the bold shade, and I just stand still, I don't know what reason for why I do it, but I do. Without being asked, I feel a hand plague my shoulder, and my head slowly turns.
"Great work, Solider."
I don't know much, but I know the voice, the accent, it's Ulfistaden accent. And the voice is that of my leader, I nod, acknowledging the statement.
"Thank you, General."
My voice is flat, emotionless, nothing I'm not use to. I can't remember much, but I can't remember his eyes being that bright of a blue, but the wicked hint in them I know, he girns at me, his hand leaves my shoulder.
"That deupty captain won't be a issue anymore"
Deupty Captain? From where? Lydia? Sudira? Lunaris? Drothia?
Lydia, why does that name have some meaning to me?
"Deputy Captain of what? Who was that and why did she look-"
I get cut off by his hand rising, and I fall silent he looks at me disappointed that I dare to question him and I feel a sense of pain and shame rush through me. He smirks at my reaction and I lower my head, and he chuckles before speaking.
"That was Deputy Captain Scarlet Thomson, a pest that one is, or should I say was, put up quite the fight however, by the quick blood loss and the hitting of a nerve, I doubt she's still standing"
My head is still hung down and my thoughts about her seem clearer, no. Like there's nothing at all only the thought, the urge to do nothing but listen, like his word is law to me, it is.
NOW
I'm standing along side the other subjects, soldiers, I've always found no matter where I am I always seem to stand out, with that group of rebels their shocked faces I still find odd but it was nothing new to me from the moment set foot here which was. I can't recall when I first did but it's the farest I can remember I find it odd because I'm a grown man and yet I can't remember my own childhood, my parents, if I ever met another? Sarah. That name rings in my head over and over and over
FLASHBACK
April 14th 1999
I see her walking down, she's gorgeous, covered in the clear night sky covered in golden stars, a dress is the right word, hair like blood and eyes like the ocean itself, flower petals of all covers, light pink, light blue, with gold, which, when I look down I see myself covered in the bright gold, with a that same shade of blue as my tie when I look up she's right in front of me, I don't know anything about this woman but I've fallen inlove already. The music is a soft piano which makes this feel like even more of a fantasy because it feels like a dream her face is so blurry but I can see her freckles across her cheeks that scarlet red hair blue eyes covered by......
"Soldier!"
And I snap out of my little day dream, a dream that can never come true, that will never happen because I'm a solider and it's all I ever will be.
