Naruto Requests: 1 (Sasori)

Doing what id had to my body I had lost the ability to feel years ago. The rain, sun or lowest temperatures meant nothing to me. A fools attempt at hitting me was wasted. I vaguely remembered feeling anything when I was flesh and blood, little scraps of useless emotions.

But the past was behind me and so were all those inconveniences that did nothing but cloud a person’s judgement. I was unmovable, no sob story or desperate look would save a victim from their fate. They still tried of course, down on their knees, throwing money or ‘valuable’ trinkets even other people in exchange for their pathetic lives. It never made a difference; they all died by my hands.

“Danna, we have a witness”

My idiotic partner was pointing over to the shrubbery. Fool. As if I needed the intruder to be pointed out to me. I saw the slip of a girl watching us clear as day.

A miniscule complication, a routine job like slaughtering for information. Occasionally some poor fool would stumble across us and would end up adding to the pile of body’s.  She didn’t even try to hide herself; she was leaning against one the surrounding tree’s a few feet away just looking at us.

Strange, there was no trace of fear on her, in her eyes. She was surrounded by mutilated corpses and us, the murderers but there was no evidence to show it bothered her. No words were said, we were taking each other in. She was plain, nothing exceptional to look at. Brown hair and eyes, simple clothing, skinny, I could snap her in two like a toothpick.

I moved Hiruko’s tail round and dragger her forward, keeping the grip tight. She didn’t react at all, no hint of pain or fear, just the same indifferent look. Deidara frowned beside me, the fool was too impatient.

“Danna, hurry and kill her”

I shot my hand out, poisoned needles sprouting from my wrist. The idiot dodged and weaved narrowly avoiding certain death once again.

“Do. Not. Order. Me. I will not be rushed by you or anyone. Do not forget this again.”

I looked back at the girl trapped within Hiruko’s tail. That display should have terrified her, people have run terrified just by the sight of Hiruko by himself, but this girl has seen corpses, violence and now faces her own death and yet she seems content. I moved her closer and squeezed tighter, just shy of being able to crush bones.

“Why do you not beg for your life? You are aware you are going to die here; you’re surrounded by corpses and saw how they came to be dead. Yet you are calm, you are not afraid. Most would be in hysterics”

What she did next would have surprised me if I was still capable. She smiled. I genuine smile. Had I not made it clear I was going to kill her? Did she think I was joking? I squeezed Hiruko’s tail tighter, positive she had to be in severe pain by now.

“Tell me. How is facing your own demise funny?”

She blew a stray hair out of her face, obviously ignoring the current situation she was in. She tilted her head to the side.

“My ‘demise’ as you put it, is not funny. I do not beg because I doubt you are the kind of individual who is persuaded by desperate and panicked begging. And this is not the first time i have seen dead bodies and I doubt it will be the last...well I guess it will be the last. And no I am not afraid; if I am going to die how is screaming or crying possibly going to help me?”

Her response was slightly shocking, if I could still feel shock. Her response was the kind of intelligence I had only heard from people maybe 4 times her own age. Although considering she couldn’t be even 18 I wondered whether what sounded like intelligence was actually just foolishness.

I could see Deidara fidgeting beside me. Why was I stuck with this idiot as my partner he was to rushed and impatient for my methods. I pulled the girl closer again, squeezing tighter to make my point.

“Forget what you saw here today.”

I threw her a few feet away and started walking, barking at Deidara to follow. He looked dumbfounded between me and the girl.

“Danna! W-“

I wrapped Hiruko’s tail around his throat and brought him to my eye level. If only I could kill him.

“Do not question me brat. We have other work to do.”
