Chapter 2

Sora slowly woke up to a loud beeping noise. "W-what?" She jumped out of bed and onto the floor, she started to violently shake Violet and yelled. "It's time to get up!!" Violet's eyes fluttered open "I-I'm awake." Violet muttered quietly. "Good, we need to change, before we end up late!" Sora said and started to change into her uniform. As they walked to the training grounds Sora saw Armin. "Hey Armin!" Sora said and started walking to her brother with Violet following behind. "How was your night!?" She asked "good, how was yours?" He asked "great!!" Sora said and smiled "I made a friend!!" She said and pointed to Violet.
When the trainer came all of the other recruits made their way over to practice using their 3d maneuver gear. Soon many of the recruits had their turn and Violet was finally next in line. "I'm going to fall" she thought "you can do it!!!!" Violet heard Sora yell through the many eyes on her back. As Violet strapped herself she got a hold of her fears and began to calm herself down. Slowly, she was lifted off the ground and she didn't dare to move a muscle. "Wow, I'm going to do as well as Mikasa," Violet thought as she raised her fist in the air in victory. Wrong move. She immediately fell forward, face planting the ground and getting a mouth full of dirt. "Next!" The instructor yelled, who she found out was named Keith. Violet scrambled out of the gear and moved back into the crowd, her head down in shame. "What a great day so far" was the only thought in her head.

"Next!" Keith yelled. Sora excitedly strapped herself into the harness. 'This is going to be so much fun!!' She thought to herself. She was lifted off the ground "yeah!" Sora shouted and threw both of her fists in the air. She did a few flips before placing both of her feet on the ground. She couldn't stop grinning from ear to ear in excitement. "That was so much fun!!" Sora said as she walked to the dining area with Violet. "Yeah." Violet said quietly and put her head down. "Are you okay?" Sora asked her friend "you seem a little down."
"I'm fine." Violet replied smoothly, "you did really good!" Brightening up with a small smile. "Let's get back so we can eat." Violet said gently grabbing Sora's wrist and dragging her to the mess hall. They sat with Armin, Mikasa, and Eren, and all the bread was soon gone. Violet didn't eat all of hers. But luckily Sasha came around and took it. Sora dragged Violet to their bunk. "You seemed a bit sad today. I bet you will be able to do the 3d maneuver training better than anyone tomorrow. Don't worry." Sora whispered glancing down over the edge of her bunk. "Thanks Sora. Goodnight." Sora whispered back "goodnight"
