We have a choice to live or exist.

"Hey mom! Ariel and I are going to the park. I'm just stopping in to stay hi!" I shouted while walking through the house towards my mother's antique living room where I immediately halted in my steps.

Why?

I saw something I never thought I'd ever see again.

There on the couch were my mother and Grant drinking tea and talking.

Come on we aren't in London anymore, seriously tea. At this time.

Inhaling I turned to Grant, "Grant funny seeing you here..." I then turned to my daughter and said to her, who was now in my mothers arms, "I think we'll just leave. Come on honey," while gesturing towards the door.

"But honey you just got here" my mother whined before turning towards Grant and continuing

"Grant here was just telling me how he missed us and how he felt when you left him without a warning, but that he's engaged to a fashion designer" she said all in one breath.

"Yea mom, enjoy your time with Grant, but I think Ariel and I are going to leave" I said reaching for my daughter.

"Hey Grant, have you met my beautiful, amazing and definitely troublesome granddaughter Ariel?" my mother asked and ended in a chuckle.

Thanks a lot mom. Now he's gonna know I lied about babysitting. Great just great.

Running my hand through my hair I could feel Grant's eyes piecing through my skull.

"Ariel," I heard my mom begin "say hello to your...."

"MOM!! I think we really need to go" I interrupted her before she could go any further.

My mother and I then entered a glaring competition where I pleaded to her, with my eyes of course, to stay quiet.

"Actually," Grant stole my attention and I turned to him "I don't really have any plans for today and I'd like to come to the park with you. If that's okay?" He finished while standing up.

Well I can't be mean to someone my mom loves so much.

"Yea sure. Why not?" I sighed "Come on kiddo, its time to leave. Say bye to grandma"

"Bye bye gwamma" Ariel said while planting a sloppy kiss on her cheek, which caused Grant to chuckle.

"Ready?" I asked Grant and Ariel.
"Piggy back ride"Grant asked Ariel who turned to me for confirmation.

"Sure why not?" I smiled
Then we were off to the park after bidding farewell to my mom.

Can this day get any worse.
