The sun hung low in the sky and its golden rays filtering through the swaying leaves of the towering cherry blossoms that lined the garden. Their fragrance mingled with the faint aroma of freshly cut grass, creating a memory I would carry with me forever. I was five years old, and my world was perfect—simple, bright, and anchored by the boy sitting beside me.
"Hey, Satoru," I called, my small gentle voice breaking the gentle silence as the wind blew softly.
The boy next to me, named Satoru, he turned his head lazily. His white hair gleaming in the sunlight. Satoru Gojo had always been a curious figure, both in our world and in my life. With his boundless energy and quick wit, he seemed invincible even at such a young age. And yet, when he was with me, he was just Satoru—my best friend.
"Hmm?" he hummed, half-distracted as he played with a blade of grass, intertwining his figures in it.
"Do you think..." I hesitated, my eyes fixed on the endless expanse of blue sky above us, it kind of reminded me of Satoru's eyes... "Do you think we could stay like this forever?"
He sat up, "What do you mean by that?" his clear blue eyes now locked on me. I didn't turn to face him.
"I mean..." I traced a finger along the blades of the grass absentmindedly. "Staying best friends. Be together forever. And always have each other's backs. You know... That kind of stuff,"
He tilted his head as I turned to look at him, he seemed to be considering my words. He then grinned, a smile so bright it could outshine the sun itself. "Of Course!" he said with the unwavering confidence that only Satoru could muster. "Together forever!"
