"Charm is deceptive and beauty disappears-but a woman who honors The Lord shall be praised."
-proverbs 31:30

We got back in plenty of time. Her parents were still watching a movie and Phoebe was still snoring. Everything was like it was when we left. I wasn't though. I felt light and airy and....happy. Halston and I sat on her roof for a little. We sat in silence then she scurried in the window and came out with a leather notebook, a pen, and some tape.
"These are all my "adventure" pictures." She explained. "The ones my parents don't know about."
I, again, was in awe of Halston. She had done so much. She flipped through the pages, pointing at pictures.
"That's Anita, from Germany." She pointed to herself and a girl at what looked like seven. The girl was tall for her age and had two long blonde braids. The two girls looked to be on the roof of an office building. On Anita's neck was a green studded cross."That's were I bought the necklaces." She continues. "I have three left."
She continued to flip, showing me the pages. There was a gorgeous girl from Italy with a blue cross. Her and Halston were in the back of a truck, driving past Italian buildings. "That's Vera."
There was a auburn haired French girl with a pink cross. They were next to the Eiffel Tower, climbing on the lit up metal beams. "That's Cecilia."
There was Irene from Ireland, Giana from Brazil, and Amelia, a Canadian girl who was pretending to be falling into Niagara Falls at night, and a few other girls.
On one page Halston stopped. I figured those were her friends from Maine. One picture was the same as the one on Halston's wall-five girls stomping around on a rainy beach. In another, Halston sat on top of a lighthouse with a boy. It was night, and the moon glowed on their faces, both Halston and the boy were blushing. He was cute, with sandy blonde hair and dimples. Halston smiled at the picture. "That's Tanner, he was my boyfriend in Maine." She twisted a bracelet on her wrist. A silver heart charm shone in the moonlight.
"Did he give you that?"she nodded. After a moment, she regained her composure and moved on pointing to the last picture on the page. It was a picture of her and a girl that looked almost identical to her on a dock. It again, was night and the two cross necklaces were very visible. "That's Paige." Said Halston. She had labeled the picture "my Main chick." I awkwardly patted her back. She smiled at me then flipped the page to a blank one. She took the Polaroids from tonight out of her pocket. In them I actually didn't look bad. I looked....real, and happy. Without the bronzer I was actually quite pale, but my face was flushed with excitement. The gold city light danced across the water as we jumped and splashed in it.
Halston tapes them to the book. I felt a rush of excitement again. She labeled them. "Me and Alison-August 2015." And "Our first adventure, more to come." I liked the sound of that. We crawled back inside when we heard the tv *pop* off. Halston sprayed us with perfume and we crawled into bed. We pretended to be out cold when Alana came in to check on us. It felt just like home, only better.
