Preston walked back to his dorm. He was kind of sad that he was alone, though. He changed into a polo shirt for the frat party.

*flush*

Preston heard the toilet. "Who's there?" Preston yelled. A man with brown hair and a dapper look to him stepped out. Oh hey there. I'm Jesse Ryker. I just got here this morning. Are you Preston Dill?" Jesse asked. "It's Dellis, but yeah. Are you my dorm mate ?" Preston asked stupidly. "Yeah bro! What are you all fancied up for though?" Jesse asked. "I'm going to a party at this sorority," Preston explained. "But you're a dude," Jesse observed. "There will be frats there too," Preston said, patience running out. "Sweet! You think you can sneak me in?" Jesse begged. "Sorry, I told this girl is go with her and I'd feel bad bringing a friend," Preston said. "Friend? Sweet! Don't worry bro. I'll be right here doing my homework. Haha just kidding. Who does homework?" Jesse laughed. Preston imagined a facepalm considering the fact that everyone here did more than the homework just to pass.

Preston walks up to CrestaΩ to see Mia sitting on the porch, lighting a cigarette. "There you are! Let's go grab a drink!" She says, throwing her cigarette on the ground. Preston follows her into the house. The music is loud and booming! "What do you want?" Mia asks. "Oh I don't drink," Preston said. "Respectable. Do you want some soda or juice?" Mia asks. "I'll take a Pepsi. What are you having?" Preston inquires, sipping his soda. "I was going to have a double vodka, but I might join your abstinence party," she replies. Preston laughed. "C'mon I wanna show you something. I bet you've never done this before- a goody goody guy like you," Mia said, jogging up the wooden stairs. "Listen Mia, I love you, but I'm not ready to. Lots of guys probably love it with you but I can't I-" Preston was cut off. "Preston, that's not it! I wanted to show you my music. But you don't think I'm a -?" Mia inquired. "No um uh I just-" Preston begins. "You're so awkward, Preston. I love it," she said. "Why do you think I haven't heard them before?" Preston asked. "Music says a lot about people and vice versa. You seem like you're into singer-songwriter stuff or 70s music. Am I right?" Mia challenged. Preston was stunned. "How on earth did you know?" He asked, chin dropping. "Give me a day with the person I can tell genres. Give me a week I'll know their favorite bands and artists. Give me a month and I'll list their top 10 songs," Mia grinned. "What music did you wanna show me? Is it that death metal emo stuff?" Preston asked. "Way to stereotype any girl who wears a lot of black," Mia pouted. "Sorry," Preston mumbled. "Dude, chill! I don't care. But listen to this," Mia said turning on her CD player.

"You listen to soul?" Preston asked her.

"Soul, swing, and indie pop," she replied.

Preston melted at the sight of this angel.

"Who's your favorite artist or band?" Mia asked. "Billy Joel for sure," he said. "Would you like to do homework at my dorm tomorrow?" Preston asked shyly. "Dude, heck yes! But afterwards I have a better idea," she winked. "What is it?" He questioned. "You'll see. But cmon lets go party," Mia dragged him down to the main party. Preston knew he couldn't let Mia go.
