Ninety seconds until the show starts.
The floor was vibrating.
Not from footsteps. Not from tech.
From above.
From twenty thousand fans stomping, screaming, shaking the ceiling like they were trying to crack it open.
We were under all of it — deep beneath the stage deck, tucked beside the lift platform, where black tape marked lines no one could cross once the countdown began.
Someone yelled 'ninety seconds' into a headset.
Another voice responded in Korean, low and clipped.
Boots moved fast. Lights dimmed red. The lift's track clicked once.
And then— A hand caught mine.
Jungkook.
Fully dressed. Fully wired. Breath just a little too fast.
He pulled me into the narrow wedge between curtain and crate, one arm braced beside my head. We were barely hidden. Definitely not alone. But for one second, it was just us.
"I needed to see you," he said, voice low.
I opened my mouth to answer— But he kissed me first.
Quick. Intentional. Like it was a checkpoint.
Then another.
The second kiss landed deeper. Slower. Not rushed — just full.
I barely noticed the crew shouting.
But the boys did.
"Sixty seconds!" a headset cracked behind us.
Jungkook leaned in to kiss me again — but this time a sharp pssst! interrupted.
"Yah!" Jin called, half-grinning as he ducked around a crate.
"You gonna kiss her through the whole intro?"
"Maybe," Jungkook muttered, not pulling back.
Taehyung popped up on my other side, practically glowing.
"Can you at least share? I've known her longer."
I snorted.
"Back off, Kim Taehyung."
"That's best friend Kim Taehyung for you miss Simon," he shot back.
Jimin clutched his chest.
"Ugh, why is this cuter than it should be? Stop. I'm jealous."
Yoongi, already in position, didn't even look up.
"You're all disgusting."
Hobi jogged past us, pointed at Jungkook's mouth, and laughed.
"Someone reapply his lip tint — he's smudged it all over her!"
Namjoon, from center riser, finally chimed in — firm but not unkind.
"Jungkook. Time."
Jungkook pulled back slightly, forehead pressed to mine.
His voice was steady now. Barely above a whisper.
"Wish me luck?"
I smiled, breath caught in my throat.
"You're going to kill it."
He kissed me once more. Soft. Quick.
Then glanced past me — eyes brushing over the others.
"Good luck, all of you," I said, a little louder.
"Really."
Taehyung grinned. Jin gave me a thumbs up.
Jimin winked. Hobi pressed a hand to his heart.
Yoongi nodded once. Namjoon just smiled.
Then—
"JK, move!" A headset snapped the command from across the pit.
Thirty seconds.
